Default Re: Its Filter Time

Resurrecting an old thread to ask a simple question.

How often is everybody doing the clean/reoil on their K & N Filters? For some reason I thought it was once a year or 10,000km, which is about what I've done, but after I bought the recharge kit I found a reference on the instructions to doing this process every 50,000 miles.

That said, I'm thinking 50,000 miles, or 80,000 kms, might be too long, especially in a dry, dusty place like Oz. I've had the filter out four or five times in the last twelve months to tap out leaves and bugs, and to vacuum out the airbox (works on the filter, too), and it's still pinkish red in colour, but how long should I leave it?

All opinions welcome.
