That very scenario actually happened. Quite a few years ago, a guy I knew in town had 'SISU' plates. He was from Findland, and in Finnish it means bravery, determined, courage... but in some other language (cannot remember which), it meant female genitalia, or a derogatory form of saying it. VicRoads received complaints and even though he explained to them what it meant to HIM, it was deemed unacceptable!
