Re: Battery monitoring system reset

After doing a BMS reset I drove for an hour to get cat food and noticed the following:
Dash voltmeter showed 11.6v for about 5 mins. That is not usually the case. Usually it goes straight to 14.something after dipping down to 11.9 for starting. Then fluctuated a bit and settled down after about 15-20 min to 14.7v which is what is usually does. So something going on there.
So I reckon there is a period of calibration lasting up to 20 min after BMS reset.
Does it matter? Maybe. Hard to say without knowing the algorithm.
I suspect unless BMS is reset SOC will be underestimated, causing nuisance 'low battery' messages to appear. Charging voltage may also be not optimal, but I don't think it would matter much in practice.
