sad about the wheels, but like everyone is saying, they must be a very soft wheel, and after seeing your problems I avoid potholes like the plague!!!
I hope your engineering thing goes well if you ever do it... I have a close relative that works at ROH and he says plenty of other brands of wheels they test, dont pass the same tests they use on their own wheels at all...
On your engine problem, so the fez has been fine until the service and then its started happening? sounds fishy
