Question The HSV GTS 25th Anniversary edition is on sale now.

HSV is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a new iteration of its top-end GTS model. But if you were expecting Holden's hot-rod shop to use it as an excuse to reclaim the power stakes from crosstown rivals, FPV, you're in for disappointment.

There is no extra power or torque for the latest limited edition model, dubbed HSV GTS 25th Anniversary, meaning the GTS remains 10kW and 20Nm shy of the FPV GT.

Fortunately the pricing has also stayed the same ($84,990 plus on-road costs) and it will be limited to just 140 examples (125 for Australia and 15 for New Zealand).

It's powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 325kW of power and 550Nm of torque, and comes mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic (adds $2000). Features include a bi-modal exhaust, a launch-mode system for the manual model, a track-ready "competitive mode" for the stability control system, six-piston brakes front and rear, and HSV's "magnetic ride control" adjustable suspension.

Styling changes include 20-inch lightweight forged alloys wheels with a graphite colour finish, and that colour also adorns itself on the bonnet scoops, grille/bumper intake and side vents. It also gets "25th Anniversary" badges on the outside, while inside the theme continues through stitching on the seats and a plaque on the centre stack.

Safety elements include a blind spot warning system, standard reversing camera and sensors, and six airbags (dual front, front-side, full-length curtain).

Looks good.... Too expensive though for a 6 year old model.

It's a GTS, at least they take some risks with the styling. I'd gladly have one in my garage.

A lot of HSV fanboys very disappointed, as a lot were expecting more power, and some expecting LSA.

HSV have never done anything but sticker packs for all of it's anniversary models, I didn't think that they would change now.

I like everything I see there but one thing, that front bumper! Overdone and not agressive enough, and the rear one is simply overdone... change them and that's an awesome car!! (Oh, don't forget mudflaps )

What a fizzer that is, 25 years and that's all they do to celebrate that milestone.

Whilst it might be a fizzer, they have made it to 25 years which in my eyes is a good thing. But yeah it really is an old car now.

Kind of like the 40th anniversary GT? Or the "Cobra"?

Love the yellow with black wheels. Bit of a throw back to the VS GTS-R.

Loved both of those ..... least they had the RSPEC so a little bit of tweeking. 40th Ann would be my pick of the best of the B series!

The difference in price was only a few K more than the stock GT for the 40th Anniversary.

Sooooo ..... you were saying?

Maybe an old car.
But it still runs rings around FPVs offerings.
interior is 100 times better. The new VF HSV should be a weapon.

I wonder if the VF update will see the Clubsport keep the current engine and the GTS get the new engine.

I can't believe there is only "10kw" between the HSV and FPV. Looking at the performance figures of the Rspec, I think one of them is lying.

Understating power is not lying, the GT does make 335 Kw somewhere but not at the peak..

My bad. I didn't realize peak power relates to the what angle the throttle is at.
FPV must get to about 3/4 throttle and think "yeah, that'll do, we are already above HSV's peak"
(no point wearing out the carpet under the throttle)

Most of the dyno charts on stock engines I've seen have the 335 making ~280 rwkw's at 4,000 revs = ~335 Kw's at the crank.

Mid range revs takes care of HSV unless you're a jurno who's been bribed

Thank you, two work colleagues have 335 GTs and the impression I get from both owners
is that the 335 Kws is more like rear wheel power or just short of it..

I think understating the GS and GT' power was a masterstroke in starving HSV of a target to aim for,
no matter how many Kws they now crank out, people will know it's still not enough to match the GT...

How so? Which area does the HSV GTS "run rings" around the FPV GT-P (its direct competitor)?
