I had a FPV salesman ring me today, asking if I wanted to swop my orderd F6 (witch I'm picking up this Sat) to the new GT-F. I ask for what reason would I do that, he said he has just been told the orders he has taken in March and April for a new F6 will not being made (NO MORE ) F6's. (He rang 5 customers with bad news) One of the customers he had to ring, asked him would I sell him my new F6, that is as we speak sitting on the showroom floor ready to be picked up for $70K, I only paid the special price for my F6. I then asked him what is the price for the new GT-F he said $100k. He has one GT-F on hold under my name untill Sat for my answer. Please Help I can't make up my mind what to do. What would you do? new F6 already to be driven or wait for new GT-F? Thanks

Tell him to get stuffed as the GT-F is less than 85k on road. What a ******.

You might need to consider whether you want a 6 or an 8 cylinder?
There's the rego, insurance, fuel, etc implications; as well as the engine and driving characteristics. |

Depends. Can you afford it, and how would you drive it. I'd be inclined to drive a GT-F sparingly, while I'd use an F6 every day...

The GT-F will be one of a kind with the limited amount there producing so it would be worth hanging onto if you brought it. In saying that thou I'm going to side with Mcnews on this one. I thought they were under $85k myself. That alone and the fact it F6 is ready to go makes me lean towards it.

The decision is ultimately yours, but the prices you have been quoted appear to be extremely excessive. I'm seeing 2014 plated F6's for low 50's drive away.

Price is definitely way too high for an F6 - personally if I had the cash I'd go for the GT-F, it'd be a one of a kind, but I wouldn't pay $100k for it.

So your car is ready to be picked up, at the price you agreed to (the special price for the F6) and now the salesmans offered you a different car and asked for a $15k premium for it.
Doesn't sound like any decision. Just go get the car you wanted and ordered. He's probably just trying his luck at gouging you on price |

so you paid 55k or something, and he has someone that will pay 70 for it, and he wants you to buy a GT for 100!
Thats a lot of extra cash moving around for him! Take your F6! Its a classic real australian car with a real aussie motor, unlike a V8 (which are cool though), yours will be probably one of the last! |

I'd stick with the F6. If I could have gotten one in white earlier this month I would have ended up with an F6 rather than a GT...not that I'll be complaining when I leave the dealership tomorrow with a brand new GT though

Something doesn't sound right with the salesman?
The GT-F is a much rarer specimen, but like someone already mentioned, best to consider your options and the implications on insurance, rego, and whether you want the V8 as a daily?

So let me get this right...You ordered and paid the $55K special price for the F6 and they have a customer that will take it off your hands for $70K, meaning there's a $15K profit but then the salesman wants to price gouge you for $100K driveaway on a GT-F so you have to pay another $30K cash right ?
If I'm reading this correctly, I'd just take your F6 and enjoy it mate. Having owned both its a line ball call as too which is best when they're the same price, but when there's $30K difference then it becomes a no brainer. Just take the one you ordered, you got arguably ther best deal at $55K brand new for an F6 that anyone's got on an FPV EVER !! and they're a bloody brilliant car |

Go the GT - Once they're gone they will be resold by greedy speculators asking heaps more - so whislt the 100K looks bad now - it may seem like a bargain a couple of years from now.
There will be plenty of used F6's and "standard" GT's for sale in years to come at decent prices - methinks the price of this last GT will be considerably higher than those. Win / Win for the GT I reckon. |

Ask him for the blokes details, take the F6 sell it to him for 70k then go place an order on a new GT-F..20k profit to put down on the GT-F... haggle them down on price..bet they'd love to see a 20k deposit!

Something definately does not seem right here!!!!
I would be abit suspicious as to if he is trying to "look after you" which appears unlikely. Pretty poor way to do business by the sounds of especially with the money you are going to hand over! Sounds like we are all coming up with the same conclusion.. But good luck and let us know which ever way you go?
