Howdy folks, I'm just planning how to spend my Lotto winnings after I win this weekend. Imagine your dream pre-1975 muscle car (Comaros, Shelby Cobras/Mustangs, Falcons, Chargers etc.). All legalities aside, and on a limitless budget, would you rather fill 'er up with a monster big block or whack on a nice shiny 6/71? This is a discussion my brother and I have frequently and it's a damn tough choice!

Besides having to put some form of GT in the garage for sundays (old skool of course)... I'd buy something exotic from overseas. Stuffing messing around with big blocks and s/c's.
Supercharged, stroked, small block LPG XC sounds pretty good though if I only win division 2 :

If I can have a twin-screw blower on my small block instead of an old 6/71, then that would be my choice.
I've never driven a big-block powered beast before, but I get the impression all that weight makes them handle like poo..?

I voted s/c small block.. but for pre-1975.. I'd have neither of the options... if I won lotto... an XW Falcon.. with a Dart block 351W taken to 400+ cubes, say.. 4.185 bore, 3.850 stroke (424 ci), LPG, Brodix BF202 heads, and two nicely sized turbocharger's (like a set of Garrett GT40's). With a modded 3 spd auto and a 9" out the back & 4-link suspension...
Ok, time to get back out of my expensive dream world :(

Wheres the Supercharged Big Block option? a mate of mine in the States just went with that on his new Chevy truck, says its awesome as, but chews the juice obviously

if i ever win lotto, it will be twin turbo's, will be all under the bonnet so still streetable (damn laws over here), and can even keep the bug catcher where it is..... (i got it planned) just need the $$$

Heck, i want a Big Block with it being bored and stroked to say 10 litres, supercharged, twin turbocharged with intercoolers, nitro, racing cam etc, dual 200kw electric motors behind the flywheel for that added boost.... yeah something like that would be almost enough power

Forced Big Block
My 460 is 60thou overbore and I'll be getting a 575 stroker crank which will take it close to the 10L mark and if the planned twin or preferably quad turbos don't fit I wanted to build a tilt forward front with space frame chassis anyway so I'll make them fit.

Got to be the BB. Preferably a Magnum 440 in a Barracuda, or maybe a 426 in a Willy's Coupe. I'd also settle for a Robnell loaded with an injected aluminium block 429, Hollinger sequential 6 speed and quick change rear end, now that's what I'd call a track day special....

I'd go with a 460ci with a flatlander stroker kit to 806ci with twin turbos!!!
Gotta love a 13.2 litre V8 May as well add some NOS to that as well _2:

Just go both....big block AND supercharger. that way you get the best of both worlds.(big cube power plus a shiny blower through ur bonnet )

If money was no issue, I would have a classic mustang fastback with a 600cu monster motor (a strengthed 460 bored and stroked)... Out of the box (with whatever SVO stick on those long block, if they still make these crate motors) makes 900hp and 750ftlb...
Thats just over 1000nm. And thats at like... 500rpm (....). Yes please! You can't beat that with a mild clevo (and I love clevo's). |

Would definately prefer my Blown small block cleveland, I have driven with both. But in my opinion there is nothing better than the noise of a supercharged engine.
