sorry to go off topic... but i'm also thinking of getting a tattoo done in a couple of years... i want the Metallica star (its actaully 4 M's joined together and designed by Hetfield)... and i want it black with blood red highlights.... would look awesome IMO... but you have to live with these things forever so you have to be absolutely sure its what you want

When I was younger, I wanted the Sepultura tribal 'S' as a tattoo. Luckily, I didn't, and I'm glad I didn't. A mate of mine did, and now regrets it - he hates it. When I wanted it, Sepultura were at their prime (Arise album) but now they are nothing like that. I think Metallica are well beyond their prime too, but that's a personal opinion... I have both of my arms tattooed from the shoulder to my elbows, and amongst that I have only 1 small piece of 'flash' (pre-designed tattoo), the rest is totally custom, one of a kind art that none else on this planet has - and I like that stuff the best. Maybe it's not as good as some perfectly designed flash, but it's mine and that's the best thing anyone can do IMHO. Find a good tattoo artist (I can suggest a few in various places...) and ask them to design something based on a theme and a style you want. Decide you want it and can live with it, and go with that.

Top looks good.
I'd love to poach your idea and get the same one done myself. As for your choice of location I think on your foot is a bit of a waste....i dunno, I never walk around in thongs or barefoot so I can't see the point in having it covered up.

I am having second thoughts about getting it on my foot now... I thought it was a good place though, because it is easily hidden and won't stretch out of shape!! hip? back?

they both look great masters but as for location I'm partial for the small of the back for gals, that way you can add later with designs that suit the image, you can only add so much to a foot hahaha

Last night, I saw a bad thing... the local small town wh*re was weraing a tight black lycra top, revealing her flab and distorted tatoo's... she had them done at the place I was going to get mine, but I have been turned off for a while... I cannot possibly get myself tattoed with that image in my mind...
Please forgive me... IT WILL HAPPEN!!!

Just be sure you REALLY REALLY want it and look around at tattooists before you decide. Don't worry about the pain, it's going to hurt anyway ;)
As for me, I don't like to be like everyone else so don't want the small of my back done, I went for the top of my back/bottom of my neck. Love it, and it wasn't very painful at all. I had a custom one done, once again, don't want to ever see my tatt on anyone else |

Well, 10 months later I finally got my tattoo! I am so excited now! I know that you are all gonna ask for pics, but my boyfriend has hidden his camera. I got the top one on my right foot, and MAN did it hurt, but i liked it!
Anyway, WATCH THIS SPACE FOR PICS!!! :
