Hollllllly crap! Imagine the torque! It reminds me of that Aussie built hotrod with the engine from a... My mind's gone totally blank. But it was built to look like a WW fighter jet.

Actually, I am thinking of a, possibly Mercury, with a V12(?) Rolls Royce jet engine.

Supercharged, rolls royce merlin V12 to be exact... in a '55 chev called 'Final Objective". Far too powerful for a dyno, but the engine's estimated to be making over 2000HP and 3000ftlbs @something like 1800rpm... I'm not sure how true that is because its mighty hard to prove... either way the thing would be a freaking animal and its street legal (on a special permit) too!

Maybe we can line up hadfields car and this one and have an airforce vs army drag race???

There was guy in the UK who built a chassis with 2 merlins they both drove into a combining gearbox that doubled the output rpm. This was output to single automatic transmission. Last I heard about it, It was exploding transmissions.

OK, I'm having problems with saving and putting up more pics, so here's the place I found out about this Mustang. Maybe someone else can figure out how to put the pics up.

Here's the link, and what others had to say about it.

cant get the pictures but heres some info

Just thought I'd share some before and after pictures of my Ford GAA tank engine. All aluminum 1100 cubic inch V8 used in WWII Sherman Tanks. These were gas burners rated at 500 HP and 1050 Ft. Lbs. of torque for military service, but are capable of much much more using mostly stock parts. They feature a 60 degree vee, 5.4 bore x 6.0 stroke, 180 degree factory billet cranks, pent roof combustion chambers, shaft driven DOHC's, 4 valves per cylinder, and dual mags. They are pretty high tech. engines, especially considering they were built in the early 40's. I've been working on getting one of mine going for the last couple of years, and should be cranking it within a week or so. It's setting in my 70 Mustang right now which I plan on taking on short cruises when finished, 24 gallons of alcohol wont go very far. It is bolted to a heavily modified Powerglide right now. Wilcap ( Pat McGuire ) built the adapter and flexplate for me.

I want one... but I want it still mounted in the Sherman... and a few dozen rounds of live ammo. White Phospherous rounds would do.

I like your style. You not only want to blow them away, but burn them up in the process!!!

And this tank engine from the 40's can make that and probably only revs to 3000rpm. I can't imagine it would rev much at all.

well it has novelty value, and thats about it.

its basically like a truck engine isnt it? low speeds, 200+ gears to shift through and lots of black smoke. I like it.
