Hey guys,
Just a quick question to the mechanics out there. I have a AUII sedan forte and went to check my brake pads today and noticed that the rotor would move with my hands and felt like it wasn't on securely. I always thought the rotor was bolted on somehow but is this right? It doesn't move much but it is sort of worrying me? your opinion will be much appreciated! Cheers P.S. Yes I do need new pads. |

Dont worry about the movement as AUs have floating discs. The discs just sit on the wheel studs and centre and a pushed on tight by the wheel.

Ford run floating calipers on all later models.
If you wheel was moving about when tightly bolted on ... I'd be more worried about wheel bearings or tie rods/ends.

What about having after market rims, could this be an issue, not tightening enough?? Cheers

could be a number of factors ... the centre bore may be incorrect .. or not have the seating ring with the aftermarket rings ... and it may not be seated right on the hub itself.
Do you have a standard wheel to test it with??? To ensure the wheel mounts right (spare wheel will work)
