Since fuel prices are nuts, I thought I'd share a site I use to see who has the cheapest fuel in the area. It also comes in app form for your phone too.
https://petrolspy.com.au I know that members probably use it or something similar, but I hope it's of some use to someone who wasn't aware of sites/apps like that. Cheers!

Just checked out prices in melb and country areas... seems like Melbourne is being completely ripped off. Close to 180cpl as low as 155cpl, country areas that dont have a Melbourne base are around 150 to 160cpl. Talk about collusion and where are the ACCC? Toothless fairys.

In the governments eyes price rises means more revenue from GST. |

Fuelspy, motormouth are just some sites which can be used for comparison. I don't drive out of my way to fill up, but occasionally I check if the area I'm heading towards has a good deal on. Other ways to save is using the Sleven fuel lock app, carsales offers 4c off per litre if you submit your odo reading to your account (only have to do it once and it lasts forever).

I don’t bother shopping around for fuel. Costco is consistently 10-15 cents per litre cheaper for diesel than anyone else and it’s not far from me.
98 Ron it cheaper again Costco is the red price.

NSW has a government app which I believe is compulsory for fuel stations to keep their price up to date. I use it all the time. It's good to check before you head out for a decent drive because there might be an area on the way that has good fuel prices. |

I think the word "cheap" can't be anywhere near fuel prices at the moment.
Least Expensive maybe.

For BEST PRICING IN YOUR AREA in NSW, this works great, as (I am 90% certain) Service Stations are legally required to update pricing every 30 minutes, and you can run this off your Computer or Mobile Phone App.
This must be the only Government initiative that actually works !! Here: https://fuelcheck.nsw.gov.au/app
