Hi lads, I dont know if this is the correct place to be posting this but I hope the Bar will do.
I am a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student. I am wondering whether any of you guys on here would know of any places that I could get some vacation work, particularly within the automotive industry? I have been searching numerous job sites but have been finding it difficult to find much automotive related work, so I hope some of you guys might be able to help out. I have applied to a few companies so far who have either turned me down, or havent replied. Basically, I live in QLD, so it would be ideal if I could get work in QLD, but I realise that beggars can't be choosers, so if all else fails I won't mind travelling a bit further. For a bit of a summary, my vacation period goes from November to February. If no-one has any engineering related work, even a temporary laborours job in the automotive industry would give me a bit of experience. Outside of my Engineering degree, I have also completed a certificate in Electrotechnology through TAFE (basic soldering, wiring, electrical testing, etc), and I'm competent with 3D AutoCAD, as well as MS Office and computers in general. I actually have another mate in exactly the same situation, so if by any chance someone has two openings, that would be even better! Cheers for any help or advice lads, Luke |
