Thumbs up Fast & Furious

Hey Guys,

Saw the new movie "Fast & Furious" last night, and just wanted to get other people thoughts on the movie. I personally thought it was great. Nice cars , action packed and a pretty good story line which was easy to follow. Anyways what does everyone else think?

Cheers

Can't say I was a huge fan.

As always though, with all the F&F series, they are all pretty good for entertainment!

Looks like there will be another one too.

I thought it was great
some of the scenes where a little too 'Hollywood' but it was good to see a lack of rice compared with the other movies I thought

There wasn't enough actual racing.

Some pretty funny bits in it too!

Also saw it last night. I can't say I was too impressed, like most multiple-movie franchises you always have to go back to the first one for the benchmark. Sort of found the opening scenes impossible, but i'll let it go for artistic license, but in saying that, I dont really find Vin Diesel or Paul Walker outstanding actors in these movies, something about not much emotion being carried over or something of the like. So all in all, I'd have prefered to watch the first film again instead.

what? to me it looked like an r31 skyline or similar... one of the old box type

i too HATE how when they are racing every time you switch to see inside the car they are shifting down a gear!!! why???!! are they taking it easy or something? how is it sometimes they suddenly have a great deal of power like they were driving at half throttle or something... but anyways this one had less racing more storyline so i enjoyed it more.... roughly as good as the first

the second one was TRASH... loved the scene where the cars jump 50 metres in the air and managed to land not smack bang on the nose but on all 4 wheels at once! wow!

the 3rd one had a completely crap storyline but there were some cool drifing scenes

As apposed to any other car film around today?

Actually the faults that Plague F&F have plauged any other car based film. Inacurate, over the top and far fetched...

The first Farce & Ficticious was terrible so I never bothered to watch the rest. If you lot are saying you have to go back to the original to see the best on of this series then God help the rest of them, they could only be abysmal.

2nd one was rubbish in my opinion. The 1st and 3rd were equally good as each other.

Peoples thoughts on movies are opinions and can neither be proven wrong. If its a brilliant movie to you then its a brilliant movie to you. If someone like Cobra thinks its rubbish then its a rubbish movie to him.

Got to respect peoples opinions or whats the point in having a discussion forum?

Opinions are like everyone's got one. We all know that, but some people's opinion are more valid than others - in my opinion of course!

The reason I thought Farce & Fictitious was so bad besides the fact that it's brain candy with a bunch of pretentious try-hard actors is how factually wrong it was. Has anyone ever seen a motec exhaust? Has anyone ever actually double clutched whilst 1/4 mile racing, as opposed to "Granny shifting" LOL? Ohh, and what about doing a skid whilst your front wheels are in the air? I thought you had to have TRACTION to lift the front wheels!

They actually made the Chevy Chevelle they used in the new one lift the front wheels on its own. They fitted a blown 502 BB, a spool, a stally, low diff gears and a bit of extra weight in the boot so it would wheelstand off the line. There's a bit on it in the latest Street Machine.

But yeah, some of the errors in the first one are pretty bad. Especially when they down shift from redline to speed up. If your in a drag race why would you shift down, you should be in the right gear in the first place. :

Saw it last night, great entertainment.
I'm sure there's plenty of holes to pick in it, but it was much better than watching TV!

The movie was good, i didn't rate it as much as previous movies i thought the story line was easy to follow. Good to See Dom and Brian racing together again! More racing, cars, drifting and girls!!

Saw it last night,
was enjoyable to watch

I think it needed more racing, but besides that didn't think it was too bad

I saw it last night aswell, and I thought it was the best one to date along with the original.

It was great that there was more focus on muscle cars this time around too.

Agree with AdzT3-146 needed more racing and less cop work.

Thought it was just average.

To me Tokyo Drift was the best one.

Overall I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

yeah it wasnt too bad. it had a good story line but unfortunately that story line meant less street racing. not only that but i think i saw about 2 engine bays during the whole movie. dont know about you guys but when i see a movie like that i want more time and detail put into the cars. its all well and good for the average guy who doesnt know a thing about cars to see 1 car beating another, but for those of us that do know a thing or two it is just dissapointing. in the end you want to satisfy a specific group of people when you make this type of movie and if you cant do that then theres less chance people will go back to watch the next movie or buy this one on dvd when its released.
so yeah in the end i was a bit dissapointed. hopefully they will bring a 310 F6 into the next movie.

Saw the thing tonight. Average movie but I liked the tunnel scenes.
But there was some awesome looking cars so that kept me entertained.

Mind you after the movie (as the day it was released) my area had the F&F factor where the amount of skids increased. The cops should just hide near the drive-in they could nab a few people.

You people aught to be ashamed of yourselves.

What self respecting car enthusiast would actually waste their time and money watching garbage like this, and then admitting it on a public forum?

I'm sorry we didn't review "17 Again" or "Dragon Ball Z" for you.

Yeah i agree, i reckon that people like myself that really enjoy watching movies, should sit around the house and wait for that 2 or 3 oscar worthy movies a year. That seems like a much better idea than going and watching a switch your brain off action movie that doesnt promise anything other than action and some cool cars. By the way that is my idea of sarcasm.
Oh and i havent seen this one yet but i have seen the other 3 and i know they arent great movies but how often does a movie come out revolving around the car world.
