why restore it :(

Bowdens have the 77 A9X Torana in race spec, its as it was when it rolled off the track in 77, stone chips n all!

Best condition you can keep a race car!

You can relax guys, it is not going to be a total nut and bolt restoration, just cleaning it up a bit. We have had it sitting here at home for the last 4 months to see what needs to be done. The mechanical side is mostly completed and it is running again for the first time in 20 years, next job is to look at the body, biggest thing being that it will be going back to being sign written by hand, as she was originally.

We do realise how important it is to sympathetically restore (and preserve) as much of the original car as possible. Tru Blu is not going to become a dolled up show queen. It will proudly wear its battle scars and show it's life as a racing car, like so many of our other cars in the collection do.

Next Wednesday night, the 20th, we will be having have a special event at Pacific Ford, the first public awakening of Tru Blu since 1989... Should be the loudest thing at a Ford dealership in quite some time. Its free entry and everyone who can make it is most welcome to come along for the fun.

If your after any more info, please check our website events page www.bowdensown.com.au

All the best,
Dan Bowden

Yeah but your "couple" is in slabs.

Great to hear the Bowdens are taking good care of it- I hope the night is a sensational one.

I recall seeing/hearing this car when it was in a Wodonga service station workshop. Was about 20'ish years ago. Owner ran the workshop. Also had a replica Shell logo'd Sierra on display.
