Hi Guys,
As the title suggests, Ford has TM'ed a new model (Class 12 Vehicle) named: XR50 (TM 1337918) I wonder if this is a model for the Falcon lineup? NOTE: All TM's are not an indication that Ford will ever use this as a model name nor does it indicate if this model is for the Australian market.

That's a weird one - XR50. Replacement for XR8 perhaps?

50th Anniversary XR Falcon for 2016? 50Kw version of the XR5? :P Who knows. Maybe they just like people guessing.

The new V8 will be a 5.0L unit so that might be what it's referring to. Doubtful that they'd use it though, it's too much like XR5. A 50 cylinder XR would be nice though...

Seeing as FoA are the only ones who use the 'XR' badge (correct me if I'm wrong) then you've gotta assume it, if used, will be on a car sold in AU.

Might be a nod back to the TE/TS 50, but based on an XR.
Maybe an FPV version of the XR8 like the GS, with 5 litre engine just like the TE/TS 50. |

Could just be brand/badge protection. They might not ever make an XR50, but now so can nobody else.

I agree it does have a motorcycle ring to it.
