Hey
I was thinking about turbo'ing my pinto, but i cant get hold of a efi manifold, so i was talking to a couple of ppl, and they said i can do a carby system with it, just get the floats and stuff done in my carby and run the turbo air intake to that. i was wondering if any1 has done this? or seen it done before, and if its worth that or gettin a manifold and putting a 40 something mm weber in and running the turbo into that? i looked at fuel injection but every1 does a sierra efi, but i cant find one or get hold of one. any1 that can help be happy 2 listen out 4 ya advice. James. |

Speak to a good carby shop and they'll be able to set it up. Maybe a small holley would be easier?

or you could just do it like they did 20 years ago or more, run a holley in front of the turbo so its set up like a suck through. A mate of mine set his up with a side draught webber in front of a TO4 with a cross over pipe to the standard intake manifold. Only thing though you will have to make sure is that you have a carbon seal installed in the back other wise when you back off the throttle after making boost it will force oil into the exhuast housing = heaps of smoke!!
Plus side with a blow through set up is you can run a intercooler. Ive seen it done on smaller engines, might be ok for the 2L but the centre point injection set up off an EA-EB Falcon. Will only need a computer to run the 2 huge injectors on it. Maybe a Jaycar computer could run it?
