You gain the 20% of the power drain of the ancillaries, like p/steer, alternator, A/C, and water pump.

A/C drain? don't turn it on.

Alternator? it will charge what the battery needs regardless of the revs.

Underdrives are a waste of $$$

every one gets them if they have a full worked motor, so big internals etc,

it reduces the strain off the acessories

waste of money? I think not. The revs fall and rise much sharper than the stock balancer, and that means less inertia. less inertia means more power to the wheels.

Yeh, some gain, but on a std motor, spend it somewhere else. IMO.

IIRC, the powerbond balancer cost me $160 over 2 years ago.. once you make the engine breathe better with a CAI (cira $200), exhaust (upwards of $800 for header-back), the underdrives come in cheaper than flash tuners, diff ratios, turbos, engine opening...

Personally, I'd chuck one on straight after the CAI and exhaust goes on when it comes to bang for buck. It's also good to have it on before you start opening the engine, to save having to re-fiddle with things when re-tuning afterwards

Ignore these univestigated claims that underdrives are not worth the $$.

Go for it you will be impressed with the improvment.
