just thought i would give everyone a heads up. They are now on ebay! Im currently trying to sell my motorbike on ebay and at first i thought i was onto a winner but after stringing the person on for a couple of days as it did seem a bit odd im almost certain its a scam. They are giving me the whole we want to ship it over to the UK. They have now infected ebay!

definately a scam if they wont come in person, or wish to use a middle man,
if they mention anything regarding army/navy etc and wanting to buy a gift for son/daughter, its a scam.

They've been on there for ages, usually if you have an email address posted in the text they are straight on it. Usually something along the lines of they are working offshore and will paypal the money and have their agent come and pick up the car. Once they get what they want they cancel the paypal transaction and they keep their money and your car

Most of these scammers arent interested in your car or what have you All they are interested in is an addition fund that you pay them Which they add to said amount via paypal Then ask you to pay this additional amount (usually freight or something) Heres how it works Car for sale 10K They offer you the 10k plus they will pay you additional $700 for frieght They then want you to pay this additional $700 into an account of their choice They put $10,700K into your paypal account , but freeze it (Get paypal to hold it, till they say for it to be reeased) Now you pay this $700 into their account thinking the 10.7k is good When ya pay the money , let them know They contact paypal tell them the deal is off Then extract their 10.7 K PLUS The $700 you paid The scam is the cream you pay them The $$$ quotes above are for examples You now understand how it works |

then send you a fake ebay/paypal email that says the money has been paid to your account. but no money has been transfered this is the entire reason i have email accounts dedicated to ebay, paypal and other commonly scammed services and communicate by common accounts

Hmmm.. you mean scammers have been on eBay for years?
Nothing new... They usually have no reputation score and have zero transactions. They usually want to use paypal and send you extra money. The current story is that they workd for the defence forces with very poor english mind you! (or pretend they are dutch!) Its always a case of buyer beware (or seller beware) on eBay, but having been a member on there for 10yrs and over 200transactions i have never been scammed once. Only had one transaction which the seller didnt send the items.

Recently I sold a radio/cd player from my Patrol worked perfectly only replaced as we put a GPS unit in. Anyway sent it to buyer about two weeks later get an abusive email it doesn't work blah blah so i tell him to send it back and I wll give refund. Package arrives at post office COD. I refuse to take it send him an email telling would not take COD as i wanted to check serial number of unit and for all i know could be a lump of wood in there or his faulty own unit. Haven't heard back.

I had a notebook I was selling got a fake paypal email saying i had funds that were on hold that would be released when the item was received, of course there were no funds. I had 3 attempts like this before the Item sold for real I have a bank account for paypal that I transfer my received funds to then transfer to my real account I won't ship till funds are safely in my real account

I just thought it might have been a scam because of the false advertising as well as using an email address
