Default Camaro fresh off the boat

Went with my brother tonight to pick up his latest import, a very nice Camaro RS. I know not a Ford, he usually gets Mustangs, but this was too nice to pass up.

Originally a 327 but a pretty hot 350 now. It is as sweet as, just finished a complete resto in the US.

We picked it up from the wharehouse after Customs had inspected it, new battery, some fuel, checked the oil, fired up no probs.

Wouldnt go into gear (auto). Then the guy says"Oh yeah, when we took it out of the container it was stacked on an incline and all this red fluid had come out, is that transmission fluid?" Der, thanks for mentioning it on the phone.

Raced off to a garage, now, well after 6pm, got some tranny fluid and topped her up. Saw an absolutely gorgeous blonde woman in a tight pencil skirt and heels filling up, I nearly ran into a 4wd backing out.

Anyway, back to the Camaro, drover her home, brakes are really bad, just wont pull you up (drums, a brand new disc conversion ready in the boot) and steering is way too light, so a bit of work before licensing.

So a couple of pics, hope you like, will try for an engine bay shot later which is also detailed. The headlight covers have folded back in this shot, but they do work.

Cool! great pickup there. Pity about the trans fluid, but nonetheless I'm sure you will have her up to scratch in no time.

Nooice .. Keep us informed on the rego process as Ive heard most states have cracked down on non-standard cars for LHD rego .. Eg wrong engines, aftermarket brake conversions, etc ..

Regardless .. Cool car (and vie got one of those front spoilers on my Javelin!)

OK so a few more pics, the first couple are from the guy in the US when he was selling, the motor shot I took today. Got a nice surprise in the boot too, a 6 stacker, amp and MP3 with a remote control unit so the interior still looks stock. Sounds good, but who needs a stereo with that nice 350 burbling away.
Licensing looks pretty easy OzJavelin, fingers crossed, just have to get the window washers working and get the brakes to be a bit more efficient.
As I said earlier a whole new 4 wheel disc set up was sent with it, $400 the lot, amazing.

Thats a very decent example, jaydee. If you don't mind me asking, how many coins did it set your brother back, landed in Australia?

The shots of the car with plates were from the seller in the US. The plates went missing in transit, funny that. It's not the first time thats happened either to a car my brother has imported. Every now and then some chrome trim goes missing too.
Got the build sheet from the resto, included a $2,600 stereo in the boot.

Wow, that has to be one of the cleanest engine bays I have ever seen.
