I see classified with car adverts with this 'claim' regularly.
GUYS can someone tell me when buying a car off a lady was ever good? in all my life, relatives, companions, friends...anything. none of the women that have owned cars, ever gave a rats azz about the condition of the engine. just put petrol in and go. to me 'one lady owner' means its never had the oil level checked, never had tyres pumped up, never had coolant checked. someone tell me the the plus side...... this is not aimed at revving up the female population, i just want to know what benefits there are from ......'one lady owner'

I would avoid "lady owner" cars.
Nothing against those who know how to care for their car, but majority don't and only get things fixed when noise is louder than the stereo or if they are annoyed by the light constantly flashing on the dash. Again, nothing against any of the lovely ladies on AFF.

I think it's supposed to be "Lady Owner" as in, "Not Thrashed". It just makes the general population feel more comfortable than saying "18y/o sons first car" lol.

Any claim on a used car means squat because, in all honesty NONE of it can be verified as true unless you know the seller personally.
See a car, get it checked and do all you can to make sure you make an informed decision prior to handing over the cash.. Then hope for the best!

The mirrors and indicators will be in 'as new' unused condition...

No complaints here.....as with anything, if you look closely enough you can cut through the BS. See below for the one lady owner car I found.
I would buy 10 from this lady owner over a car from an ''enthusiast'' who thinks that servicing your car on time means the car is fine to be subjected to abuse |

no doubt this lady is the EXCEPTION and not the rule. beautiful looking car and not because its a merc. you can see that i was loved from day 1. to me sitting in 2 hour traffic queues idling in neautral, day in day out, for years is abuse. i managed to buy 4 'country' cars over the years and a few city cars.......the difference is huge. give me thrashed (not abused) and properly serviced anyday.

I know just as many male's who just think putting petrol in a car and go.
All it is is a sales pitch, used to attract people. People say this to make it sound like the car has not been thrashed. |

As taken from the ebay add
"Female owner, only driven on Sundays, never reved past the limiter and the rear tyres have always been replaced at regular intervals to ensure even wear. "

The car is likely to be neglected rather than thrashed. I saw a woman driving Nissan Tiida with a half-flat tire the other day, it looked ridiculous!
And a friend of mine, his ex gf, had some 4WD that she NEVER serviced! Insanity. Suffice to say when it came time to sell it the service book was very super empties!!!!!!! lol |

Depends if it's "lady" or "female" owner.
The latter can translate to needs new clutch, scratches everywhere, no service history. |

It is all relative - i personally know ladies who look after their cars with great care and better then many males , good used cars are not gender specific.

There's a photo of an FG GT for sale on carsales at the moment ...says "Only been driven by a lady driver" , yet there's a photo in the ad of a bloke behind the wheel but I see it's since been removed.

So many sexist comments on here...how wude!
I know heaps of "ladies" who take great care of their cars! In relation to why it is put in ads, I have to agree with the comment that it is so potential buyers know the car hasn't been thrashed off its guts! Cheers Col

If your after an AU XR8 ute don't buy it from my sister.
Driven hard, tyres second hand Chinese radials, maintained only when it starts to miss fire. Semi regular oil changes. Scares me.

Had a laugh when looking for a e series to build as a gt mock. On carsales, ed xr8, lady owner, full aftermarket sound, 3in exhaust, extracts, cam, shift kit, some other things. And stated was only driven to bowls once a week. Least she was cruising in style.

lady owner, doesnt mean lady driver either. Could be her kid/boyfriend/dad or significant other has been giving it 'what for' and all she did was pay the bills.

LOL If anyone wants a lady owner car. Looked after better than my GT, you can get from my Mrs. Only problem is she drives it hard. LOL. She more of a rev head than me.

You can win sometimes...these are the photos from the original advert for our "one lady owner" '82 Celica.
Mind you, she was an elderly lady owner...and it only had 82,000km on it when we bought it and had always been garaged...the thing was almost literally like a new car and had always been serviced by the Toyota dealer (the service book had all the stamps in it up to when we bought it), so it's hardly typical I suppose... Always bought my cars from the elderly because they are serviced and emaculate. As for the lady owners. Just like everybody else you get the good with the bad. It still amazes me that people still try to sell their cars using that line. Must admit I am sloppy with my services and last time I checked I was male.
