Default Falcon EcoBoost sales

Hey guy's has anyone any idea how the sales with the EcoBoost are doing as I keep seeing more and more on the road! And I must say that they are very smart looking car The G6 Version seems popular. Maybe the word is getting out on how great this car is.

I looked for it on youtube but it is not there yet.

Basically it has a series of historical events that made a major change to technology such as davinci's helicopter and the mobile phone in which all the audience thought they were crazy and gestured a "cuckoo".

The last scene is two men in an EB. The driver tells the passenger it is an EB. He tries to gesture "cuckoo" and the driver floors it sitting him back in his seat and the gesture changes to surprise.

Still selling as badly now as it has from the start. I've seen no improvement in build numbers.

This was one product Ford really needed to do the hard yards selling it on its advantages, but didn't bother. Hence barely anyone knows it exists let alone how good it is.

I've seen them in car yards but never on the road. If I was after one of the non sports models Falcons the ecoboost would be my engine of choice. (I'm not in the market atm at all)

Yep thats the one I saw on FB ..... it is a good ad but is for the Mondeo only. Even though promotes EcoBoost, no mention of anything else.

Bugger. I thought it was Falcon. Maybe they did it for both although I suspect that would be quite unlikely.

So did I, they only show a quick glimpse of the front, maybe they have done that on purpose. They don`t mention it`s a mondeo so the public could think the same.

Are you in Tassie by chance? One of the rental companys over here got a heap of mk2 G6 EB's and XR6's as well. My dealer was telling me about it. See heaps of them about too. Can tell they are renters by the barcode at the bottom corner of the windscreen in front of driver.

The Falcon EcoBoost will always be deemed a failure in the eyes of some because it didn't automatically double the sales of the falcon and be the magic potion that cures all ills...

The true measure will be when the FU is released, and ford pull all there focus into that...

...that, and the Mustang receiving the EB4, only then can fords investment be truly judged.

Mine G6E is ordered and I hope to pick it up in early June. I picked it not only for the motor, but the improved handling with the better weight distribution. So it will be a highway car as well as local.

Mate, I'm sure you'll love it! I've got 16000 kms on mine now with trips to Brissy and Melbourne. As I've mentioned before, I got from Melbourne to Sydney on a single tank. Brissy saw me needing to get fuel half way between Gold Coast and Brissy. Its awesome on the highway and really great on fuel. The gearing has been setup to keep the car at around 2000 rpm (peak torque) at 110kms/hr which makes overtaking really good and reduces the number of drop downs when it comes to hills.

I might add that I have debadged my car so no one will know its a G6E or Ecoboost from the back (not because I'm hiding anything, I've done the same on my XR8).

It still boggles the mind that they arent selling well cause its really an amazingly well made car. The less weight through the twisty's makes it so much fun for a soft sprung car. The dynamics are fantastic for a big car with the non sports suspension.

EcoBoost good, EcoLPI better. (appologies to George)

I have done 26,000km on $2100.00 of fuel in a G6E EcoLPI. Fantastic real world $ per 100km economy in a car that accelerates like a bat out of hell.

And there you have it. Why would you buy a Mazda 3 or whatever when this package is available? Could it something to do with the fact that the vast majority of Australian sedan buyers are . A. Stupid ? B Really Stupid ? C Dont really give a rats **** about the local industry and just want the cheapest car possible even if it means driving with your knees around your ears ?
I'm going for a combination of A and C

If it's a quick answer (so as not to go off topic), what sort of real world fuel mileage are you getting ? Interested buyer here.

Yet another example of sheer incompetence from Ford's marketing department. They make an ad about ecoboost but feature a bloody Mondeo, when it is Falcon they should be shoving in everyone's face.

I give up.

Its funny Ford would rather spend their money advertising a car they can't even get, because of the production strikes in Genk, then the one that's overstocked

They couldn't even get 100 Mondeo's last month.

Talk about a clown factory.

I actually prefered the interior of the XT to the G6. Also the front looked a little tougher. You could see the cooler through the front better on the XT as well.

They also do nothing to explain the tech. More power and less fuel??? Hmm like every other car claim. Why not mention the power and torque or that it is a turbocharged direct injected engine. People like hearing the tech stuff even if they don't get it.

Well considering that in the previous series of ads they couldn't even get the pronunciation of ecoboost right ('echoboost') I think that what you are suggesting would be way beyond their capabilites.

I hate to say it but I've only seen one Falcon EB on the road. It was only the other day and it was a XT. It's a real shame not to see more.
