Default Wi-FI your satnav updates, how long?

Surely the first manufacturer to enable your to register your new car and thus provide a cheap simple way of updating your GPS based satnav would have a significant marketing advantage?
Is any manufacturer doing it yet?
How much longer?
It almost seems that the companies see 'streaming' is just another gimmick ....
and I'm an old fogie!

Before much longer I don't see why we can't expect to park our car within our home WiFi range and have the icc and ecu update on shutdown ..... It's just a matter of time.
But it might involve a form of data back loading .... surveillance :(
