Default Grab your final FPV

Hi all,

Just a heads up, I can't say much but allocation for some FPV's are in the pipeline, speak to your dealer if you are thinking about buying one of the last FPV's next year.

I will not be answering any questions on models, numbers, etc

Are you saying that stock will be very limited? But would Ford not want to build as much as they can sell? Or they are limiting production to ‘create’ demand on purpose?

With the 335 motor going into the FH XR8 and the F6 motor into the FH XR6T the biggest issue I see is that there's really nothing all that special about the last FPV's with Ford "selling out" previously exclusive engines into regular Ford's on a much more competitivly priced basis. That and with Brembo's optional on future FH's where's the exclusitivity to the final FPV's kit...

Unless someone wants a V8 ute.
I've been told by one Ford dealer we have until March to order the last of the FPVs, can anyone confirm this?

We tried to place an order 2 weeks ago through ford for a brand new GTP. FPV declined it saying they would not be able to produce it. So had to get one of the dealers already allocated that was due to be built in January changed from black to white.

However FPV may do a limited run of something before the close there doors but no confirmation yet of availability.

That is pretty sad, it is a long way from now until the end of the model.

I think that no matter what Ford does for a last-hurrah model they will be snapped up, lets hope that they have some pride and have a decent go at it.

Spot on!

It's pretty simple. If you don't want one, then don't buy one.

Oh please. Where has anyone said they dont want one?

If your looking for an "investment GT" (thats a very loose term) then you are better off waiting 5-10 years when these ones will have bottomed out...the sell it in another 5-10 years time. So yeah if people want to enjoy then there is no better time then now.

BTW...FFS FoA/FPV or whoever isn't making decisions...we need an updated one of these FG2 style, with the R Spec chassis additions...give that I6 a proper send off!

Would be a laugh if they wound it up a little and kept it line ball with the GTS.

Then why come on here and bag it out before it's even been released??

We should be excited about it not going on about if buts and maybes.

For a Ford forum, I can't believe how many on here bag out Ford. Makes me think I'm on a Holden forum.

I have heard these special packs will be worth buying as they'll get a few extras that a run of the mill GT won't get.

Emphasis on the letters "GT" which is something the FH won't have.

I don't see any negativity in Rodge or Polyal's posts.
Polyal is correct, Ford/FPV in the past have generally released "special edition" products as more sticker pack than anything else.

Rodge is also correct, that unless these so called special editions are really that with substantial changes then really the value is questionable considering the drive train will be available in updated model for a lesser price.

I truly hope that FPV/Ford do a decent run and release a legitimate final FPV and not just a sticker pack, but alas I fear history may repeat once again.

I don't recall this ever being actually stated by Ford. The XR8 will get the 335 engine but there has been no indication brembos will be an option ......Yet.

Join the dots mate..its a certainty, but whether you believe me or not its lrrelevant because as we all know you'd be better off buying the same brakes from another Brembo supplier at a fair price.

I'm just being realistic...unless there's something that's genuinly special about the last FPV people should be aware that there's a very strong liklyhood Ford will roll these engines and tech across to the new FH and in effect people will probably be paying a sizeable premium for the last FPV for little more than emotional / nostalgic reasons.

Ford need to release the last FPV with every bit of kit they have in the spare parts bin, (R Spec suspension, GT-P seats & 6/4 Brembo's), frankly to give enthusiasts anything less woiuld be a very sad way for FPV to end, especially in light of how much kit and tech is included in a HSV GTS.

I'm over the sales hype already...just calling it as I see it. My 2 cents.

I dunno. Ford did a sticker pack for the last 400 XC coupes and were in big demand, IIRC selling for more than RRP in some cases.

Their running gear carried on for two models too and today, those stripey coupes are considered muscle car classics and fetch a pretty penny.

FPV (which is now 100% Ford in-house) and the "GT" will be retired with the model change from the current FG next year.

Well I've put down a deposit for one of these "sticker packs". Put the deposit down months ago. Why? Cause I want to own a Falcon GT new. I dont care for its future value or lack thereof.

I'm not fussed if its just a sticker pack but in saying that, I do hope it does come out with all the fruit of the GT-P and suspension of the R Spec at a minimum. I've asked for it to be Blue and a manual.
