Default spotted: SONY SCORCHER COUPE

As the title says I managed to spot pulled over in a petrol station up near Maroochydore, the one of a kind sony scorcher coupe

Being the massive custom falcon coupe fan I am I ran over and asked what was obviously a pretty exhausted bloke if it was the original scorcher coupe, said it sure is! He seemed really exhausted so I didn't bombard him with questions and I just asked if I could take a photo which he said was fine. Said he was heading down to gold coast so it'll be interesting to see cruising around if it it put back on the road

Wasn't the previous owner a member on here? Was getting a fairly serious motor built for it if I remember right?

Still one of the best looking e series ever.

Hasn't changed, I'm sure they were the wheels it had when it was built.

Good spotting....

I heard about that one but never seen it, I believe that was another show car by either Sony or Alpine. I wonder if anyone has seen it recently...

Back in the late 90s there was a convertible EA Wagon in Street Machine Magazine with a BMW twin nostril grill. 1999 I think

doesn't look to be too bad condition seeing how long ago it was built now, is that an intercooler in the front bar.

I remember when it was being built me and my mates used to sit at the back of the oval smoking ciggie's in high school drooling over the car we were all ford nut's

Also it has an intercooler cause the car was rebuilt in the mid 2000's it was on fordmods forum the guy fitted an intercooler for a procharger system also it was re-sprayed at that time by drago ostric the guy with the gemini that won grandchampion.

I wonder if anyone in the forums knows the guy who just bought it! It's bound to be spotted again back on the road around Queensland soon too. Not sure where the driver lived (thought it was a bit personal to ask) but it's on the gold coast I know that much

That's the second shell they built I think, definitely a different car.

Is it just me or does that body shape actually seem to somehow look way better as a two door like that than a four door, even allowing they have the exact same roof line...?

Yeah I reckon they lucked out choosing a boxcar to turn into a two door, I doubt any other shape would look as 'right'

On a slightly more serious note.. How much work do you think is in the 2 door conversion? And legalities if its done?

Hardest part would be cutting and re-attaching the B-pillar to the standard an engineer requires.
