evrolet Camaro Revealed Further In New Teasers By Viknesh Vijayenthiran 3 14,728 views May 11, 2015 Follow Viknesh Reddit This! Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Chevrolet has released what’s likely to be the last of its teasers for the sixth-generation Camaro muscle car due to be unveiled to the public at a special event being held at Detroit’s Belle Isle Park on Saturday, May 16. The latest teasers hint at some of the aerodynamic features of the new Camaro and join previous teasers detailing the car’s design, track-handling features, stiffness, lightweight construction and available V-8 engine. According to Chevy, more than 350 hours were spent in a General Motors Company [NYSE:GM] wind tunnel honing the new Camaro’s aerodynamics. The result is a car that will not only slip through the air better than the outgoing Camaro but one that will also also produce more downforce at speed. At the same time, the engineering team was also faced with improving cooling performance and lowering wind noise. “To balance these different aerodynamic targets, we tested literally hundreds of changes on the new Camaro, millimeters at a time,” Camaro exterior design manager Kirk Bennion said in a statement. For example, the initial design called for the lower grille bars to be set at a 20-degree angle to the horizon. However, after significant testing, the team improved engine-cooling airflow by 1 percent by shifting the angle to 13 degrees—a change that achieved the airflow target while maintaining the look the design team had envisioned. And rather than a traditional front air dam to boost downfoce, the team developed a flat underfloor that stretches from the grille to the center of the vehicle. Paired with small “spats” forward of the front tires, the flat underbody is said to improve downforce by 30 percent—while also reducing drag. The new Camaro will go on sale in late fall, as a 2016 model. [/quote] http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...in-new-teasers

You mean a Krypton
GM Authority has spotted two new trademarks filed by General Motors, one to register “Krypton” and another for “Camaro Krypton |

I wonder if they have managed to make the inside like a car instead of a submarine. The current one has the worst interior of any car on this planet

I remember it being bad from magazines, but I went to the Chevy website after reading your post. Sweet Jebus thst is bad. Looks like something from the 80s - I could never buy a car with an interior like that, no matter how good the car was!

And here we were back in the late seventies and early eighties bemoaning the fact that in the far off 21st century the oil would all be gone and we'd be driving boring little electric buggies or limited to public transport with personal cars a thing of the past...
Glad to see we were all wrong... |

So now it's about the same weight as Mustang, apparently, with 5 more rated horsepower and a more similar profile.
Too bad Dodge doesn't have any money to do anything with the big beautiful Challenger.

You want a two-ton car on an outdated chassis that wallows through corners and sucks fuel?

I’d take an outdated chassis that wallows through corners and sucks fuel over no V8’s at all, those types of cars are already an Australian tradition. |

Yeah but they look so awesome, and that supercharger at full noise is an eargasm. Speaking of fuel consumption.... the tank empties in under 13 minutes at full throttle, lol. Also in cruise mode, they can average 18-22 mpg if I remember correctly.

They look good, but Mustang is an all around better and faster car, and has been as long as the current Challenger has existed.

The thing I don't like is the price difference that would occur between here and there. You can bet it would turn a $30,000 car into a $90,000 car. Maybe if drivers here were treated like adults and allowed to drive brand new LHD cars it would be better... |

Maybe FIAT at some point will need a RWD V8 platform not based on a supercar.

I can see them having big problems getting the alignment of the bonnet, guards and front fascia right. I've seen some bad gaps on the 300 SRT8 and even the S550 Mustang has had a few panel alignment problems.

Drove both current model challenger and camaro in the states recently.
SS is more of a sports car for sure, good handlin and plenty of go. i drove the 5.7 Hemi Challenger, beautufil looking car, big cushy ride and more of a muscle car then sports car and has the extra benefit of been a 5 seater. My choice would be the challenger, but i 100% understand why someone would choose Mustang or Camaro over it,they are a handy piece of kit are more sports car like.
