Default Darlington Park Raceway Faces Closure

You may have seen on the news last night (25-8-2005) that the Darlington Park Raceway at the Gold Coast is facing closure due to noise complaints from nearby residents.

The reporting on this story by Channel 7 and Channel 9 News and again this morning on Sunrise was heavily biased towards the operators of the track.

An article on the ABC website tells a slightly different story:

The track was thre first.

The residents moved in knowing a track was there.
What else do they think you do with a race track, walk on it for exercise???? :

Seriously people need to grow up and take responsibility for their decisions.

More fool them if they can't handle the noise from a race track.

They moved there knowing that, they live with it!

Track was there first.

People should go. :evil_laug

I have heard that it may be turned into a quarry - now that would be out of the frying pan and into the fire for the local residents who are complaining
