Default Dinner @ Wagga AFD, Friday night?

There has been suggestion of an informal dinner for all forum members coming up to Wagga on the Friday night before the show.

I am looking to see who is interested in coming along to this, would probably be at a local Pub Bistro etc within walking distance of the Lawson Hotel where most of us are booked.

So, who's in?

Ok lets start a list.....

b2tf + mrs b2tf
Melz
Tickford2001 + ???
bprint xr8
Tibbo + Shotgun
XRFPV8 + mrs XRFPV8

If you wanna come feel free to add yourself to the list, include any others you might be bringing so I make the booking big enough for everybody....

At this stage Im looking at La Porchetta which is a straight walk from The Lawson, Hogs Breath Cafe or The Victoria Hotel Bistro. If we go to the Vic we will need to drive though, Im happy to shuttle people to and from if somebody can lend me a bigger car, but we'll sort that out closer to the time.

For everybody who's wondering about the time Im thinking around 7:30pm, that gives you all time to arrive, check in and think "far out that was a long drive".

I also want to try and send a fair few of our cars up the main street to get a lot of people looking, more publicity for the show etc. Basically just go up, do a lap then go back to the motel, and from there we'll get everybody to La Porchetta.

If the time suits, I'll wait until Wednesday and get final numbers then make a booking.

I would imagine that all Forums members would want to wash their cars from their trip and get rid of all the bugs etc and have them ready for Saturday morning.
Is there a car wash facility somewhere close or could they be washed at the motel complex ?
Cheers John

I was speaking to the other half this morning about dinner friday night, and I thought that perhaps a BBQ somewhere might better suit most people. The reason for this is that we understand that making your way from long distances to a show costs a lot of money, and going out for dinner on friday night might be a bit much to ask of your bank accounts. So, alternatively, how would people feel about going for a drive to our wonderful botanic gardens and having snags or steak and a drink as opposed to eating out? It will be daylight saving by then and won't get dark till 8:30/9 pm. If people like this idea I can buy packs of meat and drinks and ask everybody for a small donation to chip in. It just saves people spending $40-$80 on going out on top of all your other expenses. So what do you think? Please be honest, its just an idea, and we are open to suggestions and ideas.

Ok can admin put a poll up - choice is either BBQ or Restaraunt and we'll go with the majority as it stands on Wednesday.

Also re Carlovers etc, I will post up a seperate thread regarding maps etc of Wagga.

La Porchetta for sure. These poor city types will get to meet our flies soon enough without showing them the mozzies as soon as they arrive!

La Porchetta is cheap, anyway my BBQ skills suck!
