Um, where does it say Silhouette is gone? I see it on the colours page and on the 'build and price' page...

I don't like the idea of them replacing it with a 'lighter' black...

Ego is a new colour. As you say, Silhouette is still on the build page on both Ford and FPV sites ... but so is Rapid, and it's no longer available.

They take a long time to update their web sites. I e-mailed FPV on 13/2/06 to point out they still had BA Mk11 specs on their F6 site. They acknowledged this and blamed their web master. It was updated a week later.

I thought black was black. It doesn't get any darker. Soon people will think peach is a colour, peach is not a colour. It's a fruit!

They really just need to keep a 'dark black' (if there is such a thing).

I know my next car is going to be black, and I'll be very ИИИИed if they say "sorry - we don't have black, we have a very dark grey" (which is black I guess : )

It is my understanding that there was a car at the Melb Car Show in EGO.

Due to start on the production line in late May. (so I am uninformed)

I'd say that is it!

Reminds me a little of the EF-EL Gunmetal Grey.

Both Black and White are not classed as colours, there can not be a light black or dark white or vice versa.

Black is black and white is white no other options hence the saying

" the answer is in black and white " or similar.

Not true I'm affraid, blacks can have any different colour or combination of colours of pearls - for example the Mitsubishi's I used to work with - Magna's all had a green fleck, while all black Lancers/Mirage had an Amethyst pearl of reds, blues, pinks, etc.

The Gold fleck as pointed out on Subaru's above looks great; My BMW is a toss up between black with silver fleck, or very dark grey with silver fleck. The name "Diamond Black" reffers the former, although I believe its more the latter.

Having experienced a paint shop, "white" comes in many different shades, and NO white cars to my knowledge are painted with straight white tinter. The Holden Rodeos come to mind with heaps of blues, greens, yellows and reds through the paint - a touch up jar I made of 30mills (6 years ago) couldn't match as it could not combine accurate particles of each colour and still be 30mills!!

I think they SHOULD change these colours more often - and for BF have a "different" black - a solid gloss black (not grey) with a different colour pearl than in the BA, etc. Keep things interesting!! Just like was pointed out above with the Subarus having gold pearl one model and blue the next. They get boring and all look the same after a while; keep it fresh with a different pearl, but don't DELETE black for a dark charcoal.

If they change the black, it will more likely be the colour of the fleck they put in it. Currently Silhouette has a blue fleck in it. THE MY04 WRXs had a gold fleck, but switched to blue fleck in MY05 for instance.

See here: Silhouette

Silhouette is a blue black colour as can be seen in that picture.

It's a new additional colour, not a black replacement.

On topic, is it possible to have a black, metalic fleck in a flat black paint? I reccon if they were to replace/re-invent Shillouette (sp?) that that'd be the way to go. Mercedes-Benz have the best balck by miles, so much depth and a really silky flow.

As DJL351 said. That ego seems to look a lot like EF Gunmetal grey or maybe that recent VY holden colour (martini or turbine, i cant remember)

At least silhouette remains, without they would have be able to see any LTD's at all (sorry couldnt resist).
