Default Dob in a Hoon- QLD

G'day Everyone,

Just wondering, does the QLD police service have a "Dob in a Hoon" hotline?
If so, what information would I need to present to them to give them a lead- Rego? Car Model? Times of incidents?

Any help would be appreciated, as there are some seriously stupid drivers in this town.
Flame Suit On! :
Cheers

Darran

why not just ring the police station
and whats stopping you from making a false statement against someone you hate, thats the joys of having such a hot line

either way i havent heard of one and your best bet is to provide proof with your claim(just a thought)

Unless they admit to doing that which you accuse them of, there nothing the law can do. No hotline in Qld for hoons, the cops will take a report, or make like they are to appease you though.

We did have, maybe still do, a report a smokey exhaust hotline.

Well in SA the Gov has just ordered 200 sets of wheel clamps for people who spin thier tyres, they plan to clamp cars in the owners drive for a week.

I am sure these decisions are made over a red wine and a belly full of crap by people who have no idea.

Not that i do any stupid driving to deserve 1 , but a wheel clamp wouldn't last long on my car in my driveway, i'de be out there with the angle grinder and have it ground to pieces in a matter of minutes ! .

Besides , unless someone is driving dangerously puting others at risk as 'exrtnz' mentioned , then haven't you got better things to do than dob people in ?

This dob in a person rubbish gets up my nose bad, as last year the little ford lazer i had decided to backfire on me and spit a huge chunk of smoke out ( never blew any smoke otherwise though ! ) , some dibba dobba saw it and dobbed me into the epa for pollution saying my car was blowing smoke badly.... cut a long story short / i went through heaps over that ! , over a stupid backfire and a loudmouth !.

I dont think QLD has that sort of hotline.

Besides - I dont think dobbing them in is a worthwhile solution.......

Just my opinon though.

Just wait til you accidently spin the wheels and some granny calls up :( And it only really applies to burnouts, I have been dobbed in lots of times for speeding but the police have never talked to me. In SA in is a joke, first time they take your car for a whole 48 hours.

There was on old guy back home in Victoria that didn't appreciate the "young hoon" next door. From memory he had a Courier ute, lowered and all that but it was his stereo, probably subs, that this guy disapproved of, especially at 1am or so. Basically walked out one night when he pulled up and gave him a love tap on the nose, young fella learnt that he needed to be more considerate. I'm sure it was more effective than a phone call would have been.

There is no such thing.

And if there was there is nothing that could be done about it.

Just give up and accept that some people are bad drivers, and rest knowing that sooner or later they will get caught.

People complain about me and my car on my street and the car is rev limited to 3300rpm at the moment with 4.11 diff gears so speed is not a problem nor is anything hoonish but because the car sounds mean people just assume your doing wrong things .
What ever happened to just doing the right thing I mind my bussiness you mind yours to many people think they need to be fun police or anything different than their narrow views is wrong and should be reported .

Hoon laws suck they will course people to run .I can see why they are there but still think the people they catch and stop from hurting others will not out way those that run and hurt others .
