Default Summernats 20

Who's Going?

This year should be a good year, im really looking forward to it

Victor Bray will be back with his matt black 57 Chev and race/burnout cars, so will brett stevens

and it seems like they will be having alot of old cars from earlier nats there aswell to celebrate the 20th year
oh and lawrence the legend is trying to do a backflip in a car (should be hilarious!!!)

so who is entering? who is spectating?
would be cool to see some forum members cars there, ill be with a few nice family members falcons.

Summernats is an over rated car show for entrants with big wallets...........hope it rains!!!!!!!

Oh yeah and I aint going as the organisers have no customer service/relations and don't care as long as they get your entrant fee...........

How long since you have been there I've been going to this event for over 15 years & in the early days some louts were out of control like Mildura in 1983 & Narrandra before that. The last couple of years its been fairly well run with security you will alway get the banana brian that will cause trouble like Bathurst but I think its been made more family freindly. The Rebel biker group that have had their tents up for many years had another group come into the grounds which could have been a problem. But I didn't see any incidents occure myself

i see on the Summernats ads in Street Machine, down the bottom it says "NO BIKE CLUBS ALLOWED" does this mean the Rebels wont be there this year?

your right ,it needs to be made alcohol free, but the summernats major sponser is a brewery and jack daniels with out them I think the entrant fees would be very expensive.
maybe the organisers should be trying to control the drunks by selling light beer after ,say 4pm hopefully that would slow the ******** element, works at the football

Yep I'll be there with missus and daughter spectating. Went to the very 1st one in 88, Haven't been back since, Been trying to go the last 5yrs. Would be nice to be alcohol free event but that still wouldn't stop various ethnic groups thinking they're better than others.

When you think you need alcohol to have a good time that's when you need to have a look at getting yourself a life.

I'm there from Tuesday, working in Scrutineering again. If you go through say hello. Felicity (Discovery) will be there as usual, her tenth year!

Alcohol and Bums = Damaged Show Car

Its not a wowser thing..........

As per usual its the one or two idiots that wreck it for the rest of the public, if they chucked out the drunken bums then it would be fine, but they don't as those drunken bums spend alot of cash there which is what Summernats Admin is all about......

I knew some one would take it the wrong way

The bit where I said "As per usual its the one or two idiots"

I did not say you were that idiot unless you yourself think you are...........

And the day the world needs alcohol to make the world not boring will be a very sad day indeed....

But those types are at most events not just car shows. Sorry to hear you got your car damaged.
Last year I did see security remove a couple of angry intoxicated individuals out of the Natex complex on the Saturday night.
One of the worst acts I witnessed was when a group of louts threw a bucket of water into a open window of a car that would not perform a burnout but that was quiet a few years back before the insurance premiums had the organisers tighten up security.
Its still a great car event with some neat cars

I have also seen a couple of young blokes thrown out for being a bit anti social and security handled it pretty well.
its a bit of a catch 22 situation, ya risk getting kicked out of the show for doing a burnout or risk damage to you car, etc for not pleasing the crowd.
as for doing burnouts for the crowd ,most entrants dont have a problem with it other than the crowd being too close .
if ya get out of control (insurance issues)

ps
its when i cant take vb in with me but can buy the same product at the event that I get dirty :jab:
