Default Rarer than rocking horse poo....

Was at my friendly local Ford shop today and in the used car bit was a second hand bright orange XR5 Turbo. It has 8k on it and looks new.

These things are a bit rare new so a second hand one would be almost unobtainable.

Anyway if someone on here is keen for a XR5 without the 6 month delay and wants the details PM me.

I have only seen one in Canberra since they were released. Nice cars, too bad the supply doesn't keep up with demand.

Apparently there has been a bit of interest for the new Ranger too, only problem there is no stock, so people cant see it

Walked past a ranger at the local dealership today, spitting image of a freestyle cab courier, didn't realise it was something different until I walked back out and saw the ranger badges.

There's an orange one around the box hill area and the girl/lady driver, drives like miss daisy, from what I remember at the car show they weren't that nice to sit in, and looked stupid on the in side.

Because they are so rare at the moment dealers seem to be asking stupid prices for them - I seriously dont see the attraction, besides being a Ford, the Mazda 3MPS and Rexy eat it for breakfast. Guess there will always be that niche market though that want something different.

3 MPS is 6k more expensive while the rexy is 10k more expensive. 36k for the XR5 is a great price.

I think what is happening is that Ford made a stuff-up by not putting rear power windows in some of these vehicles from factory. As such, the people that ordered them are pulling out of the deals, even though FoMoCo Aust has said it will put them in.

Saw 2 orange ones at the VSS cruise on Friday and theres 2 in my estate, one silver which is a mad colour and another orange one.

Would love to have one for a weekend to drive round the mountains, would be some nice fun.

The local Wizard home loans has an orange one with sign writing all over it. The orang matches their corporat colours.
How often do you use rear power windows anyway? I might put it down to let my dog stick his nose out. Actually, electric is better if you have kids because you can lock the swicthes so they cant play with the windows.
My XC has rear power windows on the way down and manual on the way up, unless you're lucky. (That would make a good quote)

Bryan Byrt Ford has one second hand to, my only guess is that these cars are EX FORDMOTORCO.
