Default Tree = 1, Ute = 2! (2 = 0)

This is what happens when you hit a tree sideways between 150-200kph.

Amazingly (according to the email I got at work) both 18yo's walked away from this!

The marks on the road look like the driver got into a spot of bother!

Tree = 1

Ute = 2!

LS1 half-cut, anyone?

Cash the rego...

& tub it?

Those guys are lucky that it wasnt a front on impact, and it just tore the ute in half instead. They were bloody close to hitting a house by the looks of it, too.

It won't buff out.

I tell you what, trees are invincible! Never ceases to amaze me how a living thing can do that to over a ton of steel moving that fast and remain standing.

Easy. Tree's don't give. When a, in this case, 1700kg car is moving, there's alot of kinetic energy there... and when it hits the tree... its absorbed by the object more likely to give... which 100% of the time is the car.

Wish I was 18 and invincible again. Now when I hit trees they hurt...

...though they can be conquered - i knocked down two gum trees when the paddock basher 70's Falcon ute I was driving on property out west hit them 3/4 on.

Think about it, there would be several tons of leaves catching all those gusts of wind, and all that leverage of being 15 metres above the ground.

A 1 tonne car hitting it at 40cm above the ground would be a miniscule force compared to that.

What I find more interesting is how damn cheeky these trees are, always jumping out in the way of cars. I mean, if you ever ask a driver what/who was at fault, the typical bloke will never admit he was in the wrong. :
