Default Star Wars Episode 3

Well, being a bit of a closet geek and having a son who loves Starwars, my wife and I have just bought tickets to the 12:01am showing of Episode 3 on May 19th. My sons 8th birthday is on May 21st so we thought it was the perfect early gift for him. Hopefully he'll get a kick out of it.

yeah, but not the same as seeing it at the cinima opening night with a wide mouthed son who thinks he's king of the world.

I agree Casper. Can't wait to see it meself, it's meant to be heaps better than the last 2 (which I think sucked *** due to too much CG instead of he way th originals were done).
And then there's jaja binks... PUKE!

Yes, I know I sound like a geek, but they're a classic series and nearly everyone has sen them.

episodes 4, 5 and 6 were more about the story than the effects, however, the effects were still bloody amazing for their time, especially considering episode4 (the first one) screened in 1977. the final trailer for episode3 does look pretty good though and it'd also be interesting to see how things are set up so that they flow into episode4. however, some things that get me are how anakin skywalker built c3po in episode1 and r2d2 had strong dealings with both he and kenobi, yet in episode4 c3po doesnt find it strange that his new master is luke skywalker and just so happens to have the same people for his uncle and aunt who he met X amount of years previously. and both of them have no memory of kenobi either. im assuming something must happen in episode3 where their memories are wiped or something, unless that was just a continuity error that is being ignored. i know that may sound a bit 'geeky' or whatever, but come on, its a fairly obvious observation, lol, plus theyve been playing the movies at work on the display tv's so ive been picking up on some minor facts here and there

So far, I've got to say I much prefer the 'original' Star Wars movies, #4, 5 & 6 over the 'new' #1 & 2, it will be interesting indeed to see how well #3 flows into #4.

#3 will have to be VERY good compared to #1 & 2 for it to be anywhere near as good as the 'originals', in my opinion.

Casper, I hope you, your son and everybody else enjoy it and have a good time on May 19th.

In the "movie" they use memory wipes to stop the droids getting "personality’s" and that is how they explain it, If you cant remember how do you know what you've done or where you have been?????? (OHHH my god "gulp" I'm a GEEK........NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

I like the older ones 4,5,6 for what they were able to achieve and pave the way for all the other movies, but the graphics of the new movies was unbelievable. Its the way most movies are going.

Cant wait untill it comes out in the cinimas, boy its gonna be hard if they eva do a feature and play all 6!!! thats gonna take some effort

I thought the second one wasn't too bad. Episode one sucked tho.

Ep 3 is meant to have an awesome 10-15 minute sabre battle with Obi Wan and Annakin.

That'll be sweet.

Ive just finished reading the book and its pretty good. Looking forward to the movie which has a lot more action than the book, while the book has more dialogue and thought of the characters.
must say that palpatine is great in the movie.

Ok, first of all, my aploogies for mining this thread, but I thought it made more sense then starting a new one.

Reviews of "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith" are now starting to appear, and it seems that at least one reviewer seems to think the acting isn't as good as it could have been, and that the movie didn't live up to expectations.

Here is one review I have just read: http://movies.ninemsn.com.au/movie.aspx?id=46559

Although this guy loved it (warning, contains spoilers, do not read if you don't want to know some of the major plot points from the movie): http://www.viewaskew.com/news/sith/

It will be interesting to get the opinions of people around here when they see it...

EDIT: Seems RollingStone wasn't impressed either: http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/...player=unknown

Well, I got back from it at 3am this morning and all I can say is it is FAR FAR better than the first 2 of the prequel. Sure, there was some less than brillient acting but its Star Wars, not a serious drama.

Honestly, I loved it, my son loved it, my wife loved it and I cant wait to get the DVD.

Oh, and its far darker than the first 2 and answers a lot of questions. Well worth seeing.

I watched episode one (errr, four) the other night, I can see we're going to get plot holes all over the place.

Remember A New Hope, when Luke doesn't know who Obi-Wan Kenobi is, but knows Ben Kenobi? Well Obi-Wan says to him "Obi-Wan is a name I haven't gone by since well before your father died". I'm willing to bet they call him Obi-Wan right through Episode 3, hardly 'well before' Anakin died.

I'm a picky little shit aren't I? We'll just put it down to the fact Alec Guiness was old and had lost his mind.

Cool, thanks for that, I'd prefer to hear the opinion of a "real" person (such as yourself) to the opinion of a film critic, who obviously is going to be looking for things to be critical of.

Sounds like I'll have to go and watch it myself.

I too went to the 12.01AM session. It was sensational, loved every minute of it. It's up there with Empire in my books. Does tie most stuff in. I'll be going again today. There's so much stuff going on in the film to fully appreciate it in one go.
