That's f--ked up right there. What a waste of a life.

I wouldnt think emo 'did it'... id probably suggest someone who sees themself that way gravitates towards emo....

Pretty rough for the family having it go down like that.

i dont understand how these kids can live on the internet...
its really quite detached from the real world imo.

edit: it really does bring it home doesn't it.. who are elo or whatever?
some depressing punk band?

like the article says, the kids can type faster than they think.. its not like talking to some one face to face..

It's a genre. A form of punk rock, pretty depressing stuff.

Urban Dictionary: Emo

The third meaning is the most accurate.

ELO = Electric Light Orchestra
Band from the 70's. Jeff Lynne lead singer. Was also part of The Travelling Wilbury's. Some pretty relaxing laid back music. Wouldn't class it as emo or punk at all. Listen to some.

Yeah, was reading about this the other day. Anyone else notice how he seems to be online a fair bit though? Hmmm. Emo is like a genre/trend/fashion. Stands for emotional, and its people/bands etc that are all sensative, as pretty much described in the link posted above. Its like a sensitive version of punk.

I know plenty of "emo's" they are really nice people, and none of which i would ever consider to be depressed (except the hardcore emos, who crave atention and cry alot and hurt themselves for attention).
Simple plan are not classed to music buffs as a typical emo band, and i wouldnt blame the music for people killing themselves. I myself use MySpace as a way to communicate between my friends, so dont go bagging out people who use myspace or who have black hair and are "emo" thats the way they choose to live.

Yea same, its just the image they like. Even the hardcore emo's they can be really nice people also, people just judge them. This kid was just craving attention i'd say, and anywhere on his my space page does it talk about him being emo? No. I also use myspace but just to catch up with bands etc. Its not all emo stuff on there. Simple Plan are ghey, more pop wannabe emo. Lol

And you, and your sweet desire,
You took me, ohhh higher and higher baby,
It's a livin' thing,
It's a terrible thing to lose
It's a given thing
What a terrible thing to lose.

Perhaps it was a sweet talking woman that drove him to such extremes?

First comment from that article

"Roger Lynott on Dec 06, 2005 at 23:41:11 said:

The vague hint of sarcasm wafting off this article brought tears to my eyes-tears of laughter, that is.

Give the kid a Darwin Award already. Our genepool is cleaner as a result of him eliminating himself from it.

When our generation chooses to hide behind Photoshopped self-portraits and screen names such as MYxXxHEART_IS_BLEEDING, then glorifies suicide, and serious medical conditions such as self-mutilation and depression, I am ashamed to be a part of it, and I have no sympathy for those who do buy into this cesspool of vanity and ignorance.

Let\'s mourn for this kid\'s friends, because they will have to deal with heart-wrenching life problems such as killing spiders for themselves now. Let\'s mourn for the English language, when a one\'s very last words are almost incomprehensible netspeak, they can\'t have had many worthwhile comments and ideas to contribute to the world anyway, apart from \"my gf dumped me, mom h8s me, da razor releevs da pain\". Oh, and let\'s mourn for the loss of the last shreds of commonsense and dignity we have to offer as the online community"

i think its becoming fashionable to act depressed...I hate simple plan...if pop culture was already at the bottom of the pit, it just dug itself even deeper... its sickening to think a band can get rich singing about how bad their lives are...

I know an "emo"... She is one of the coolest, nicest, smartest (and hottest) chicks around. I only found out a few months ago she cuts herself for an "adrenaline rush" and also tried to OD on Panadeine Fort or something. It's really disturbing and makes me feel sick.

Gotta add my two cents here...

And some of the posts in here are great.

But these little s**ts are a boil on the *** of society. If the greatest thing in the world to do is dress in black and wear makeup and appear in public like you belong in the Mardi Gra, you live a very, very sad life.

The worst thing though is they're influenced by TV and music, and to stop that is a mission that you can't win.

They may be the nicest person on the planet, still doesn't change the fact that there making everyone else look bad. People's perception is a b**ch, when I see these idiots in public, I immediately think that society has gone to s**t.

Why the hell are we even on the subject ?????????

why the hell call em "EMO" . Why cant we just call em all geeks with no grasp on reality ! Its all ME , ME , ME , ME ,ME .......... with these types!

In my eyes , why feel sorry for him. he got what he wanted . He chose to kill himself because he didnt want to tough it out and live life ! He obviously had no regard for anyone else when he chose either !

ok next subject , and can we maybe have one with a little content of interest!
