absolutley thats an ok price, its a very good price, with nice kms - not too high for the age
the V8's last for ever, the auto's generally need some work done by about 250,000, so you should be able to get another 100,000km out of it before needing work... what spec level is it? from memory futura wagons never had the option of V8, so it'd either be a GLi or Fairmont... what colour? |

Hey, its a GLI and silver in colour. In real good condition except for a few scratches down one side. I think if the auto died I'd look at having a manual fitted. Don't know how much trouble it would be. It's an early 1997 model I think.

Do you know if they feel much more grunty than a 6 cyl? The 6 cyl ef and el's i've driven feel rather sluggish. I haven't driven a v8 one yet. Haven't driven this wagon yet but i've pretty much agreed on buying it pending my test drive tomorrow. It does have a sports exhaust and sounds pretty good.

It should have a fair bit more torque down low off the line compared to a 6. When I compared mine to my old ED 6 cylinder wagon, it had heaps more poke all over the rev range but this gap narrowed a fair bit by the time the EL came out. Put in a manual(get the manual ECU) you wont look back.
