Default murder charge for deliberate head on

what is wrong with the world today........why are our young and feeble minded so reckless and stupid.

what would drive a feller to do this not once but on numerous occasions.

http://www.whyallanewsonline.com.au/...uble-fatality/

we struck exactly this scenario around murray bridge a while back and again north of clare, now I wonder if this is some sort of "new" boredom breaker for our halfwit latest generation.

The guy charged is 36 years old. Its not exactly young and feeble minded.

Depression could be a reason, drugs, mental illness.

Mind you this isn't the worst incident I've seen this week:

yes there always seems to be an excuse and people to back them up to give these dimwitted fools a get out of a heavy sentence charge.

to me, 36 is young and he is definitely feeble minded if he thinks driving into oncoming traffic is the right thing to do just to get his jollies for the day.

I live with depression, I wouldn't dream of doing that, drugs are a self inflicted disability that I don't go along with, no excuse to deliberately commit harm, drugs are a lifestyle choice,

I have a disabled son who wouldn't dream of doing that stupid nonsense.

hope they throw the book at him.

What a disgustingly sad way to go. What the he'll is wrong with people? If someone did that to them would they understand that it's wrong I wonder?

These filthy grubs deserve to be put into the toughest jail to allow justice to take its course.. slowly I hope.

don't have to go to yankee land to see non-sensical infanticide, violence against children is happening here in good ole Astraylya everyday, poor little chloe, for one, can't seem to get any rest.

the "system" knew of her predicament for years but did nothing, no-one is to lose their position in the aftermath.

Seriously at 36 if you haven't got your ****** together then you never will. 36 is not young like someone under 25 which doing this to get their jollies off would be more likely because the brain hasn't fully matured.

plenty of folks here that are over 35 and still infantile.......we have a couple of families, with young kids renting in our street that are well over that age.

drugs, alcohol, loud music, burnouts, handouts from the dole is the way they CHOOSE to live.

police visit on a regular basis.

age is not a required factor in determining maturity.

but to go out and deliberately kill two innocent young motorists simply because of boredom.......what the hell is going on.

personally knowing one of the involved, he was quoted when the police arrived..." *******, cant even kill myself successfully"

Its a shame because now his family have to survive with him locked up and we pay for his hotel accomodation for the rest of his journey.

Well that would start making sense. The news article was crap.

Unfortunately as good as this country has it we still have many people that don't want to live anymore. This is not a good way going about it.

had one use me and the mack as an exit from earthly bounds a long time ago, ended my trucking part of life.

but we have since had some unexplained close calls due to oncoming vehicles lately, I hope this was a suicide attempt and not some new way to get your rocks off.

not his first time though ......he was done for manslaughter not that long ago.

I think you are reading that incorrectly, as his charges have been amended from "manslaughter and upgraded to murder", you are insinuating a separate collision which isn't correct.

just reading what was written...."The man was previously charged with two counts of manslaughter in January this year"

doesn't say, nor do I, what it was for.......merely not his first time before the courts for a similar sentence, this one commuted to murder.

so you didn't say this in your op, you are insinuating previous incidences.

The charges have been upgrade from manslaughter to murder.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-1...-crash/6619556

My guess and this is a very big guess, is that the driver was trying to take his own life.

Working in motor claims it was common for a claim to come across, that someone had attempted to harm them self in a car. Like drive into tree's, parked cars etc.

read the story and instantly thought it would be a suicide attempt, picked the biggest car there and drive straight for it.
very selfish way to try and go

argumentative today aren't we.......why (as in the question why) he did it is open to conjecture, you, as I, do not know whether his previous manslaughter charge is for a similar thing or not.....I'm unable to find anything about it.

I suspect it is simply because he was up for TWO manslaughter charges.

so FACTUALLY the assumption is correct the same as it may not be.......you don't know.......uh right back at ya!

pretty simple : Read and Comprehend.................

From the link i already posted for you :

Following an extensive investigation, a 36-year-old Whyalla man has now been charged with two counts of murder following a fatal crash at Middleback on December 29, last year.

Police will allege the accused, the driver of a Nissan station wagon, deliberately drove into the path of an oncoming vehicle on Lincoln Highway about 12.10am.

Two people in the other vehicle died at the scene and two others were seriously injured.

In January this year the man was previously charged with two counts of manslaughter. These charges have now been upgraded to murder.

The arrested man has also been charged with two counts of cause serious harm by dangerous driving, which relate to the two people that survived the crash.

It would appear that he was charged with manslaughter in January for killing the two people in an accident prior to the full investigation. Now that the full details are known it appears suicide was his intent and so the charges have been upgraded to murder as the act was premeditated, not an accident.

As an aside to this and sorry if this offends, but I wonder at the number of single vehicle accidents around the country.
Are they really accidents or suiside?
Have to be accidents because police cannot record suiside when vehicles involved.
