Angry Some people are low....

Went out to the backyard this morning and found that some fool/ ratbag has stolen my 10, and 8 year olds bikes along with their helmets. All up about $600 worth.

Reported it to the police and will enquire with the insurance company to see if it will be worth claiming it or not. If not looks as though Santa will have to deliver some new bikes as mum and dad cannot afford them.

It is pretty low - but where were the bikes? In the yard or in a shed/garage? Out in the open and you are unlikely to get much help from insurance unless they were locked up. My bikes over the last 25 years have never been stored outside in the yard - even the back yard

Dude thats a wrotten act.

Times are tough now and prevention is better than cure - TRUST no one !!!

If the bikes are on the home site (home boundry) then it should be covered with insurance unless you went for a insurer with policy based on price and not cover !!!!!!

$100 excess to apply.

EG if your lawnmower is stolen from your front yard when you went inside for a drink it would be covered - AGAIN I must stress that if you went for a insurer with a policy based on price and not cover then it prob wont be covered.

ALL IN ALL YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET

Sorry to read about it, they probably stole them to sell to raise money for drugs, my bet is that the bikes would be at the local pawn shop or cash converters.

But what a low act, I'd say what I really think of people who do things like that, but the swear filter would censor it all out...

The bikes were under the pergola.

Will check with the insurance company and just see.

Must be some desperate people out there as they took the kids bikes but left mine and the hubbies.

Most policies will do "open air theft" to a certain value. and of course you will have to pay your excess whatever that may be toward the claim and then weigh up if it will be worth the extra premium the following year for making the claim and losing a portion of your no claim bonus.
Good Luck
