90 series landcruiser, as in a prado?

Imagine if you were in the men's version Landcruiser (50,60,70,80,100,200 series)

Falcon driver had "minor" injuries - Also, we drove the landcrusier onto the tow truck...

You can compare injuries when T-Boning, and how can you say airbags wouldn't have helped?

Also this would be one of those cars you can drive at 10/10 most of the time without getting into too much trouble

You could have so much fun with one of these little things in the hills.

The WS Fiesta I have is like a go-kart at 1080kg, you point the nose somewhere and it goes there.

I was a fan of this car early on. Cheap, badge cred, build quality, economical, small and nippy for city driving. But...... a 5 door Up! is priced close to a 5 door Fiesta CL that has just had a price cut and now comes with the previously optional saftey pack. With prices so close between the two, it makes choosing the Up! very hard when you consider -
-Fiesta can seat 5 people. Up! is only a 4 seater.
-Fiesta has a 1.6 4 potter with 89kw, not a 3 pot with 55kw.(I know its not a power war at this end of the market, but...)
-Option of 6 speed powershift auto.
-More reasonable service prices.
-Has bluetooth/voice control, optional on the Up! (about $500).
-Bigger car overall, more metal for the money.

VW will sell plenty of them, but I think theres is better value to found and its not like the segment is short of good cars and brands that will match prices when needed.

I believe VW are going to release a capped price service like everybody else, i dont think they would want to play funny buggers and make service charges of a rip-off rates, of course you dont need to take it to a VW dealer either.

Great car at a great price, take my hat off to VW

Just because a Fiesta has 5 seats, doesn't mean it seats 5 people.

Maybe 5 ethiopians.

In my WS Fiesta, front two passengers lots of room, rear passenger not so much and thats just 3 people.

Funny how the same people bagging this out lay into the 86 aswell...small cars have a place and if its not in your garage so what. Its ok to give praise to other brands, it doesnt diminish your loyalty for Ford..LOL

Who is forced to service their new VW at a VW dealer? Only a fool would use a dealership for services, regardless of brand...

So the Up is cheap to purchase and (get it serviced at your local mechanic without voiding warrranty) then cheap to service... Win/win

Sinclair Ford wanted over $400 for a Fiesta 60K service... Call that cheap? Obviously I went to my local, but the phonecall for the price was worth it for the giggles...

This car will set the new class standard, when the others match it we all win.

Hot Volkswagen Up GT confirmed

DateOctober 3, 2012 Joshua Dowling

Turbocharged three-cylinder terrier due in 2013.

Volkswagen Up GT.

Volkswagen will put the pocket into “pocket rocket” next year when it introduces a go-fast turbocharged version of its tiny Up city car.

The Up just went on sale in Australia priced from $13,990 – the cheapest new Volkswagen sold locally since the 1980s.

But the car maker has plans to expand the line-up with a performance model – although it has stopped short of calling it GTI.

The Up GT is said to be powered by a turbocharged version of the Up’s diminutive 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine.

Power is up by almost 50 per cent, while torque is up a staggering 70 per cent. That really is Up.

Volkswagen board member Dr Ulrich Hackenberg told reporters at the Paris motor show the Up GT’s output would be 81kW and 162Nm (compared with 55kW and 95Nm of the standard car sold in Australia).

The other difference: the regular Up comes with a five-speed manual, whereas the GT version is tipped to come with a six-speed manual.

Performance figures are yet to be revealed but expect 0 to 100km/h times in the mid to high 7-second bracket.

It will likely cost close to or in excess of $20,000 if it goes on sale in Australia after a European debut in late 2013.

Hmmmm looks a whole lot nicer with those outputs!

How does this engine compare with the 1.0 Ecoboost?
