Hi all
I hope this hasn't been done to death as I just did a quick search. I need a new battery for the 3 year old FG. I remember sealed cells were all the rage a few years back but the NRMA told me not to use them now. So, what battery would be best for an FG XR8? FORD would obviously want a kidney as well as 1 million $. Cheers Geoff |

FORD don't ask a million bucks for a battery as they generally sell Non Genuine ones anyway. Here at work we use the Exide X56D for the FGs. 550CCA Heavy Duty battery are well suited to the FGs.

Supercharge MF50 600cca maintenance free and 3 years warranty couldn't ask for much more.

Supercharge Gold series, Bond Premium and Century batteries we find are the best.
Warranty for private use on the new Supercharge Gold and Bond Premium is 3 years as well. |

Another one for Supercharge Gold. Had one in my BA, and will buy one for the FG when the time comes.

I use an Optima Blue Top battery, dual terminals, 550CCA and 10 second burst for startup. Never had any issues and looks modern too...

Optima Blue Top batteries look like they belong to a extraterrestrial car.
