There is tons of money to be made, just depends what you are prepared to do and how hard you are prepared to work.
I drive cheap cars so I dont have to pay silly finance and insurance costs. I moved from Sydney so I could rent that house out and buy a cheap primary residence in the country. What sort of hard decisions are you willing to make??? are you willing to sell what you own to get started.

Firstly, if your credit cards are maxed out, then you should look at getting a personal loan to pay them off at once to avoid interest. Most credit cards run at about 18-19% interest which in 2006 is absolutely ridiculous. You could roll them over to Virgin with a 6.99% interest rate if you are at all unable to get a loan.
As for a job, I suggest you work out what hours you'd be willing to work and then look to finding a job that would start in the vicinity of the time you allowed, and finish at a time that wouldn't put your existing job in jeapordy. For example, don't become a DJ that works until 4 in the morning when you have to be at work at 8 in the morning. Bar work, and waitering in a restaurant is pretty easy to get into, and pays relatively well. I'd suggest giving that a go. First thing to do though is sit down and set yourself some goals in relation to what's coming in and what's going out. You might need to restrict yourself somewhat and it takes alot of discipline but you should be able to work out a plan of attack - Then stick to it.

My mate has just built his 5th house one more he recons and he'll own number 6. He just builds and does the lawns and sells after a couple of years and now nearly owns a huge house with pool on 40 acres in CQ. I already own mine so I'm not to worried. I always thought doin odd jobs around the neighborhood and charge 20 -30 bucks an hour would be a good idea. That's if you have to use your own tools. cheers. cheers

yes it is, it was explained to me by the instructer, the licence i have now, i could get a job on a dock driving a container fork. or in a woodyard driving a log fork, whatever.. its up to the employer to train you on the exact machine, but the licence shows that i can competantly drive the machine and perform the safety side of things.. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT, i didnt realise i'd typed tonnes, i feel like a nong.... meant kg |

Childcare centres make plenty of $. It costs me $200pw for 1 child and he only goes 2 days! It cost me $150-200 to spend my daughter to school for 12mths. Now why is childcare so expensive? At the school I can get before and afterschool care for $14 mornings and $12 evenings. Why's my daughter cost bugger all? Yet for my young fella I have to bend over and be raped at a childcare centre? Someones making a lot of money :( 2 more years and my young fella's @ school. Can't wait! Money back in my pocket

Come up to FNQ and help with clean up. The contractors up here cleaning the streets of broken branches and uprooted trees upped there prices from $175 p/h to around $250 when they found out the government was paying for the clean up costs.
Easy money. Not like there's not enough work either. Heaps of vegetation carnage.

I agree wholeheartedley. My little man is at school now, but it cost $210 per week to send him to creche from the time he was 11 months old to age 5. After tax, I was spending $9k per year in child care costs, which equates to near the average for a good private school education. And what ИИИИed me off the most, was there didn't seem to be any significant advancement in his development, or any structure to their learning programs (they tried to claim there were, but each time I dropped in during the day, the kids were just playing outside). You think you're paying for some kind of early childhood development, but really, it's just a damned expensive babysitter. |
