Round Down Function in Excel??

I have a heap of numbers i need to round down, as they are sales units and we all know you cant have .34 of a unit etc.

I tried to do this with the excel Round Down function but its weird, doesnt seem to do what i want it to?

Can anyone help me?

Use INT function

Rounds down to the nearest whole number

=Int(number/cell)

If you need to find a excel function, in a cell, press =, then next to the formula edit line there should be a drop down list of previously used functions. Click the list and hit "More Functions" where you can then search for functions.

=ROUNDDOWN(cell ref or number you want to round down, 0) should do what you want.

You can also use the FLOOR function to round down by .05c at at time

=FLOOR(G32,0.05) to round down by .o5c or
=FLOOR(G33,1) to round down by 1 ( can be set to whatever you want )

I doubt there would be any problem that can't be sorted for excel.

For a moment there I thought the thread title said "run-down function on excel"... I thought it came as a standard feature from Hyundai...

Ok, another challenge for the Excel experts - how could you pick up on which one cell within a row contains an entry (a letter or number). I have it 'kind of' working with "NOT(NA())", but it doesn't work for everything, eg only up to letter n - o to z are not detected.

can you give a better example ? if you want to know the exact cell ref you will need a small macro, if yu just need to know if there is something in the cell or not a formula can do this

supply example and can give you an answer
