Default can I get some suggestions about mechanics?

Hi,

I just bought my Focus LS CL in July. It is a second hand one but I am pretty happy about it. However, its engine warning light went on when I drove it home today.. Sadly I know very little about cars, so I am seeking some advice about where I can get a good mechanic to check it? I live in Hawthorn, Melbourne. and how much will it cost me to check this fault?

This car was always serviced by Jefferson Ford by looking at the log book. Shall I just bring the car to them directly and ask for a quote?

Any suggestion/advice is more than welcome!

Cheers
