Lightbulb 2.0L Pinto Rebuild SUGGESTIONS

Hey guys,

As a few of you may no I have just dismantle my 2.0L pinto. I plan to rebuild this engine with hopes getting some reasonable hp. I am considering to bore the block out 40 thou or so, with flat top pistons (while still keeping standard crank I heard some where they are good for around 8000rpm and are quiete strong). For the head, I thought of shaving the block, double valve springs, bigger valves, mild cam etc. I was planning on running a carby set up. IF i did go EFI would I need to change anything?

I plan to run this in mk2 2 door, or I may being getting a mk1 cortina of my mates granny ??

Any thoughts, suggestions or otherwise is greatly appreciated. Other than using a different motor I plan to use the old pinto :

Cheers,
James
