Default XR front bar on ghia

I've decided to keep my au and want to personalise it a bit more.

To that end I've bought an xr front bar, lights and bonnet.

I've loosely fitted the front bar and note that the Hi series bonnet fits with it, provided I do something about the xr grill.

One thing led to another and it *seems* that the ghia grill and surround will also fit with a little modification (eg bottom corners need rounding).

I can see that I'll have to fit a wire to the bonnet release catch in order to open the bonnet. (edit: scratch that comment... it looks as though it will still be ok with the bonnet popped)

So the question is, has anyone done this mod or can anyone see why it won't work?

A pic for clarity:-
