I think the 2002/2003 timeline suits just fine....
Most can be traced to eBay and those Shannons auctions.

Clever marketing made it appear to be a great investment in buying classic muscle cars.

You couldn't give away an XA sedan in the 1990s.... now an orginal stock 6 cyclinder sedan has gotten to around $6000 on eBay.

Even the XC Falcon has slowly been gaining an appeal as it gets older....
