Default 06 Fiesta - Ignition Issues

Hi

A friend of mine has the following problem, would appreciate any help!

Travels daily from Goulburn to Canberra and return (90km each way). The problem is consistent and happens on every trip, in both directions.

Car always starts first time every time regardless of weather.

After about five minutes of driving the speedometer stops working as does the odometer. After a further five minutes, on the highway, at around 110kph, the engine will stop. Turn the key from ON to OFF and back to ON and the will start / fire again (car stilll moving, manual gearbox). This happens about 5 to 15 times on every trip, so the speedo andodometer will not be working for anywhere up to 40 Kms. This happens so consistently that you can pick when and where it will occur. More dangerous at night because the HEADLIGHTS also turn off when the engine dies. FORD and auto electrician unable to identify the problem. TACHO remains working (when speedo stops) and all the other electrics are fine. He has tried warming up the car but no difference. I suggested checking all the fusues and contacts.
Any ideas appreciated.

TA

Kim
