HSV is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a new iteration of its top-end GTS model. But if you were expecting Holden's hot-rod shop to use it as an excuse to reclaim the power stakes from crosstown rivals, FPV, you're in for disappointment.
There is no extra power or torque for the latest limited edition model, dubbed HSV GTS 25th Anniversary, meaning the GTS remains 10kW and 20Nm shy of the FPV GT. Fortunately the pricing has also stayed the same ($84,990 plus on-road costs) and it will be limited to just 140 examples (125 for Australia and 15 for New Zealand). It's powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 325kW of power and 550Nm of torque, and comes mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic (adds $2000). Features include a bi-modal exhaust, a launch-mode system for the manual model, a track-ready "competitive mode" for the stability control system, six-piston brakes front and rear, and HSV's "magnetic ride control" adjustable suspension. Styling changes include 20-inch lightweight forged alloys wheels with a graphite colour finish, and that colour also adorns itself on the bonnet scoops, grille/bumper intake and side vents. It also gets "25th Anniversary" badges on the outside, while inside the theme continues through stitching on the seats and a plaque on the centre stack. Safety elements include a blind spot warning system, standard reversing camera and sensors, and six airbags (dual front, front-side, full-length curtain). The HSV GTS 25th Anniversary edition is on sale now http://watoday.drive.com.au/motor-ne...001-26ukz.html
