Default 2015 Mustang to Gain Weight?

Steeda says so:

Mustang tuner Steeda made headlines last weekend when it knocked the Blue Oval for adding 200-300 pounds to the 2015 Ford Mustang coupe. Steeda, like many tuners, gets a first look at these cars in order to properly prepare for the aftermarket.
“Our work is cut out for us because unbeknown to most Mustang aficionados (and not ‘officially’ confirmed by Ford for obvious reasons), the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake -- and with weight being the ‘enemy of performance,’ there are plenty of challenges needed to ensure that the 2015 iteration of America’s favorite ponycar isn’t left at the starting line spinning its wheels against the competition,” said Steeda’s blog.
The three variations of the 2015 Mustang come with either 300, 305 or 420 hp and 270, 300 or 390 lb-ft of torque. The previous 5.0-liter GT had a power-to-weight ratio of 8.61 pounds per horse, as opposed to the Camaro’s 9.17 and the Challenger SRT8 at 9.05. Gaining 250 pounds would put the 2015 Mustang’s curb weight at about 3,868 pounds, which would worsen its power to weight to 9.21. It could go from feeling the quickest of the ponycars to feeling the slowest. Sure, we’re only talking about a few pounds (per horse) here, but still.
Those of us who bought the 2014 model (ahem, yours truly) are feeling a little vindicated today. We’ve contacted Ford and are waiting for a comment.

I'm sure traditionalists will blame it all on the independent rear suspension.
