Default Engine fault code scanners

Hi guys,
OBD-2 Engine fault code scanner for a BA Falcon 05 Mk2 6cyl.

I know this has been discussed sometime back a number of times but not of late as far as I'm aware. In saying that and with respect I would be very interested in peoples thoughts/experiences/recommendations on this subject now that there is more updated ones on the market that members would be familiar with.

I know of the Forscan and it's very good but I'm after an accurate/reliable plug & play without having to upload a program into my computer/laptop if I can help it. There's plenty out there & I've looked at a number of them but this is for a good friend of mine who just wants something that she can check for any fault codes without it being too complicated. Something under say around $50-60 bucks. Your suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm also looking for a OBD-1 for an EA 6cyl Falcon.

Cheers.
Grahame.
