Default Fiesta Hatch Installing Reversing Camera Part 2

My apologies for the delay in finishing this: I wrote it in and had it 'disappear' twice, so this time I have written it again below. My wife and I are in our 80's and need help with Reversing into Parking spots, and in finding our way around with G.P.S. A 10" Screen and Reversing Camera solved that, but I found no guidance on fitting to a Hatch, rather than to a Sedan and I thought that many other D.I.Y Ford users might like to see how I made the installation.

Installing a Reversing Camera in a WP Fiesta Hatch (Part 2): Third attempt.
At the end of Part 1 I had installed the Camera, threaded the Video and Power cables through the metal frame of the Hatch and had started on feeding them through the Rubber sleeve joining the Hatch to the Body. I had taped the cables to a straight piece of wire Coat-hanger and was threading that though slits that I had cut in the sleeve. First, I pushed the wire up through the ‘Hatch’ opening in the sleeve and through my cut, pulling all of the cable after it. Next, I pushed the wire back into the cut and angled it to go through the length of the sleeve, under the ridged rubber and out through the second long cut. I sprayed the inner sleeve with WD40/Inox to make it slide more easily, and again gently pulled all the cable through. Finally, I pushed the wire back down and straight out of the large opening. Once the wire was out I pulled all of the cable through and we were finished with the sleeve. Now I needed to get the cables across the Headlining to the ‘C’ Pillar. At this point I used a metre-length of springy Curtain Wire (the White PVC covered stuff), with Curtain Ring screwed into the ‘working end’. I made a hard bend of about 45 Deg. 50mm from the ring: This will carry the Cables above the Headlining. I then pulled the Rubber Hatch Seal away from the Roof near the ‘Sleeve’, and from there, down to level with the side ‘Combination Tail-light cluster’. I gently separated the ‘Cardboard’ Headlining from the metal roof near the ‘Sleeve’, using a thin, Flat-Blade Screwdriver, and pried it open to give a gap of, say 10mm. Now I slid the Curtain wire into the ‘Sleeve’ hole and across to my Gap, using a bent wire to ‘Hook’ the Curtain ring. I slid the Curtain wire carefully between the Headlining and the body until it was about level with the Tail-Light: there is no need to pull the Cables out, just about 200mm of Curtain Wire, because at this point we are going to head over to the ‘C’ Pillar. To gain access to the bottom of the ‘C’ Pillar I needed to pull off parts inside the Boot, basically the Plastic Floor Channel across the bottom of the Hatch, and the Left-Hand side panel-both of which ‘popped’ off, and the ‘Carpet’ over the mudguard. Now, if you aim your Curtain Wire at the ‘C’ Pillar you should be able to get it down and visible at the mudguard, and be able to capture and separate your Cables, and then refit the Rubber Hatch seal and the Rubber Sleeve. The Power cables (Red & Black) go to the Reversing Light, so remove the Lighting cluster (2 x Torx25 screws outside and a Plastic Nut inside) and unplug it. On my Fiesta 5-Pin the ‘Black’ wire is Earth/Chassis and its outboard neighbour Grn/Brn stripe is +12V Reverse Light power. I shaved these wires, Soldered the appropriate Camera wires to them and insulated the job and then refitted the Light. I taped the Video cable to the mudguard and used my flexible Winch-Wire to pull it through to the front door via the Plastic Carpet trim, then re-soldered the three wires to their original Plug.
